El día de ayer la casa de moda Balenciaga y su Director Creativo desde 1997, Nicolas Ghesquière anunciaron su decisión de dejar de trabajar juntos a partir de 30 de Noviembre de 2012. Y la noticia llega como un shock ya que no hace mucho, Balenciaga saco a la venta el perfume Florabotanica cuya imagen es Kristen Stewart y quien ha dicho más de una vez que su decisión de aceptar el perfume de la marca de alto renombre se basó en el poder trabajar con Nicholas a quien admira de cien formas diferentes. Tampoco olvidemos que el show de la temporada primavera-verano 2013 fue hace un mes y todo parecía bien. No queda más que tomar el luto y esperar a ver quién remplaza a Nicolas y qué hará ahora.

Yesterday the Balenciaga fashion house and its creative director since 1997, Nicolas Ghesquière announced their joint decision to end their working relationship as of 30 November 2012. And the news comes as a shock because not long ago Balenciaga released the perfume Florabotanica whose image is Kristen Stewart and who has said more than once that her decision to accept was based on how much she wanted to work with Nicholas who she admires on a hundred different ways. And let's not forget the fashion show for the spring-summer season 2013 was a month ago and everything seemed to be okay. I guess there is nothing left to do but to take the grief and wait to see who replaces Nicolas and what will he do now.

Al respecto Jennifer dijo: "Es un sueño representar a una marca tan icónica y que además es sinónimo de alta costura". Sobre la actriz, quien asistió al debut de Raf Simons en la casa de moda en el desfile de Julio, Raf dijo: "Estaba asombrado por su increíble persencia en la pantalla, su juventud y su belleza clásica pero también por la fuerza de su carácter y la complejidad que es capaz de encarnar siendo tan joven". La nueva campaña de Dior con Jennifer está programada para salir en Marzo del 2013. Se rumora que la decisión de Dior de cambiar a Mila por Jennifer se debe a que desde que la primera anda con Ashton Kutcher ha descuidado su imagen, también se dice que es porque ha subido de peso. Yo personalmente creo que se debe al éxito que le espera a Jennifer con la saga de Los Juegos del Hambre lista para reemplazar la saga de Crepúsculo, porque si alguien ha visto sus fotos del día a día sabe perfectamente que la chica no es un icono de la moda andando por las calles. Es una decisión relativamente inteligente poner a Jennifer como cara de la línea de bolsos, sólo queda esperar a que los fanáticos de Los Juegos del Hambre sean también fanáticos de la moda.

It is rumored that the decision to switch Mila with Jennifer is because since Mila started dating Ashton Kutcher, she has neglected her image, it is also said it's because she has gained weight. I personally think it is due to the success that awaits Jennifer with The Hunger Games saga ready to replace the Twilight saga, because if you have seen the photos of Jennifer on her everyday you know that the girl is not a fashion icon walking the streets. It is a relatively intelligent decision to put Jennifer as the face of the handbag line, let's h only hope that thefans of The Hunger Games are also fashion fans.

Aunque tenía mis dudas sobre si Raf Simons podría llenar el vacío que dejó John Galliano en la casa de Dior, ahora que vi (tarde, lo sé) su colección de Primavera/Verano 2013 que se mostró en Paris hace unas semanas, me siento más tranquila. Pero no estoy aquí para hablar precisamente de la ropa, sino del maquillaje que se uso en los ojos. 

Although I had my doubts about whether Raf Simons could fill the void that John Galliano left at Dior's house, now that I saw (late, I know) his collection for Spring / Summer 2013 which was shown in Paris a few weeks ago, I feel more calm. I'm not here exactly to talk about the clothes, but about the eye makeup.

Me encantó. Los colores brillantes, la forma en la que combinaban con la ropa, lo cargado que era pero que por alguna razón parecía natural. Me parece una idea perfecta, ya que generalmente esa es una época en la que yo personalmente no me maquillo más allá de la base, el rímel y un tono claro para los labios. O rojo, me encanta el rojo.  Pero definitivamente voy a comprar sombras con brillantes azules, morados, naranjas y verdes para la próxima primavera.

I loved it. The bright colors, the way that the colors matched the clothes, it was heavy but for some reason seemed natural. I think it's a perfect idea, because usually this is a time in which I personally only wear base, mascara and a light shade for the lips. Or red, I love red. But I'll definitely buy eye-shadows with bright blues, purples, oranges and greens for next spring.

Cuando se escoge una base de maquillaje es muy importante probarla y ver como se ve en la piel y como reacciona. Por eso es que es bueno gastar un poco más en este producto.

Generalmente las marcas más caras tienen mayor pigmentación en la fórmula y son más fáciles de usar. Se sienten más suaves y duran más tiempo porque la cantidad de color es mayor. Es bueno que pruebes diferentes marcas para ver cual es lo que más te agrada y si no tienes muchas sombras es bueno probar con las paletas porque tienen colores diferentes a un buen precio, que puedes usar solo o combinarlas.

Generally the more expensive brands have better pigmentation on their formulas and are easy to use and blend. They feel softer and last longer because of the quantity of pigments they have. It's foog to try different brands to see what you like better and if you are starting to use eyeshadows it's good to try with palettes because they have a varitety of colors at a better price, that you can mix and match.

Este producto es el principal que deberías de ahorrar por dos razones. La primera es que casi todos los rímeles tienen la misma fórmula y lo que cambia es el empaque y la brocha. La segunda razón es que es el producto que debes de cambiar entre 3-5 meses porque se seca muy rápido  y es peligroso usar un rímel viejo ya que es fácil que produzca una infección en los ojos. Los maquilladores profesionales generalmente eligen este tipo de productos que tienen la misma calidad que uno más caro y estos rímeles son de culto desde hace más de cuarenta años.

This product is the main one you should save for two reasons. The first one is that almost every mascara has the same formula and what changes is the package and the brush. The second one is that you should change mascaras every 3-5 months because it dries very fast and it's dangerous to use an old mascara because it can cause eye infections. The professional make up artists generally prefer this products because they have the same quality as an expensive one and some of the above are bestsellers over 40 years.

 

No hay cosa que más me enoje que un barniz malo y que se caiga a las horas que se aplicó. Curiosamente pensé que uno más caro iba a ser mejor pero cual fue mi sorpresa que uno caro es igual o peor que uno más barato. Estas marcar la mayoría se especializa en barnices y por eso recomiendo escoger estas ya que son mejores y tienen una variedad muy extensa de colores. Sé que O.P.I. y Essie no son los más baratos pero valen muchísimo el precio por la calida, es la que la mayoría de los manicuristas prefieren, duran mucho (hasta dos semanas), son muy cubriente y tienen todos los colores que te imagines. 

There isn't a thing that makes me more angry than a bad nail polish that chips a few hours after you apply it. Curiosely I thought a pricier one would be better but at my surprise it turned out to be as bad as a cheaper one. This brands mainly especiallize in nail products and that's why I recommend to choose these because they are better and have an enormous variety of colors. I know that O.P.I. and Essie are not the cheapest ones but they are worth every penny, the majority of manicurists prefere them, they last a lot of time (even two weeks), have an amazing coverage and have any color you can imagine.
