Hola a todos, espero que estén tenido un excelente mes! Primero que nada perdón por no haber escrito antes este post pero ahora ya trataré de ser buena Blogger y escribir más seguido ;) 

Para este post quería continuar con el tema favorito del mes y la verdad es que he tenido varios favoritos de belleza pero lo que he estado obsesionada prácticamente todo el mes ha sido un libro. 

Sé que no es lo convencional pero creo que hay quienes les interesaría el tema ya que me ha encantado. El primer contacto con el libro fue porque descubrí el canal de Youtube de la autora y la he seguido por muchos meses. Casi todos sus videos y posts me han gustado mucho ya que habla de todo un poco: moda, belleza, estilo de vida e incluso comida…pero lo que más me interesa es su manera de ver las cosas de una manera un poco minimalista.

For this post I wanted to continue the theme of favorite of the month and I had many beauty favorites but the whole month I´ve been obsessed with this book. I know it's not very conventional for a beauty blog but I thought it might interest some people because I've been loving this theme. 
The first contact with this book was through the author´s Youtube channel and I've followed her for many months. Almost all of her videos and posts  I've enjoyed, she talks a bit about everything: fashion, beauty, lifestyle, even food...but what caught my eye the most was her minimalistic philosophy. 

Debo admitir que soy la persona menos minimalista pero últimamente me ha interesado leer más acerca de este estilo de vida y me encanta ver los “Capsule Wardrobes”. Este concepto significa escoger de acuerdo a tu estilo de vida y gusto ciertas piezas de ropa, accesorios, etc. y realmente escoger cada pieza para que combine una con la otra. La autora sugiere empezar con 10 piezas básicas (sé que puede parecer alocado pero no cuenta zapatos, accesorios, abrigos, camisetas) dependiendo de cada temporada  rotando y adaptando a cada estilo de vida. Debo ser sincera y confesar que mi clóset más que parecer un comercial de IKEA, que sería mi sueño, parece más uno de los programas de TLC en el que tienen que llevar un equipo para ayudar a ordenar. Creo que me ha inspirado bastante en tratar de reducir lo que uso y seguir sus tips. He estado tratando de hacer mi “capsule wardrobe”, es difícil superar los hábitos de shoppaholic pero creo que vale mucho la pena intentarlo, aquí es un ejemplo de como me gustaría que fuera.

I have to admit I'm the least minimalist person but lately I've enjoyed reading more about this lifestyle and especially I love reading about capsule wardrobes. This concept means to choose depending on your taste and lifestyle certain pieces of clothing, accesories and really choose each one so you can combine them. The author suggests to start with 10 basic pieces ( I know this might sound crazy but you don't count shoes, accesories, outerwear, tees) and as the seasons change so does your wardrobe. I must be honest and confess that my closet rather than resembling a perfect IKEA ad, which is my dream, it looks like the ones on TLC which need a whole crew to sort out. 
I've been inspired in reducing what I wear and following her tips. I've tried to do my own capsule wardrobe, it's difficult to overcome my shoppaholic habits but I think it's worth trying...here's what I dream it would look.

Honestamente siempre temí este día. El día en el que tendría que tener un trabajo. De adulto. En el mundo real. Peor aun, que tuviera que usar un uniforme.

Todo comenzó el fin de semana pasado cuando se me informó que había sido contratada para un puesto que de hecho tenía que ver con la carrera que estoy estudiando, eso en sí ya era ganancia. Se me informó del sueldo y me transporte a la novena nube de mi cielo. Así que preparé mi maleta, ya que el trabajo es en la capital del país (obviamente en mi novena nube me veía viajando por el tren ligero, sintiéndome como deben sentirse las chicas que van a NYC y esperan que su vida sea una copia de Sex and The City), llené mi maleta de camisas que esperaba hicieran sentir orgullosa a la primera mujer que trabajo en una oficina (Perdóname, Diosa de las oficinas por no saber tu nombre).

Llegó el martes, mi primer día de trabajo, me mostraron las instalaciones, me presentaron a gran parte del personal, me mostraron mi área de trabajo. Todo era miel sobre hojuelas hasta que me llevaron al área de recursos humanos y me preguntaron mi talla. Tenía que llevar un uniforme. Una camisa blanca que obviamente no está hecha para favorecer a nadie y un pantalón de color dudoso (una mezcla entre crema, café y amarillo). Así de rápido pasé del cielo al infierno. Por fortuna no tenían en existencia mi talla en pantalones (Gracias, Diosa de las oficinas), así que sólo me entregaron cuatro camisas blancas con el logo de la empresa.
Mi primer día de trabajo me desperté extra temprano. Yo, yo que siempre me había prometido no despertar más temprano por mera vanidad. Ahí estaba, frente a esa camisa blanca que se burlaba de mí mientras me tomaba un café y mis bellas camisas especiales para el trabajo lloraban por no poder ser elegidas para acompañarme en este día tan importante. Por fortuna podía usar mis jeans de mezclilla oscura favoritos, pero tenía que hacer más, tenía que recuperar la identidad que esa fea camisa blanca me había robado. Tenía que encontrar el balance perfecto de accesorios, cabello y maquillaje porque ni estaba yendo al gimnasio, ni tampoco iba a una fiesta. No quería enorgullecer a Kim Kardashian.
Así que consulte algunas de las viejas entradas del blog, recordé que había hecho una sobre maquillaje para diario (la cual puedes ver aquí), me inspiré en la primera imagen de Anne Hathaway, le agregué un poco más de rímel y me pareció suficientemente apropiado. Para mi cabello me inspiré en la segunda imagen de Keira, mi cabello es aproximadamente 15cm más largo que el de ella en la fotografía y tengo la parte inferior pintada en un estilo ombré que va de un rosa magenta a un rosa pastel (Lo sé, trabajo de oficina con cabello de colores: no es la mejor idea. Pero aun soy joven, y se me está acabando el tiempo de poder experimentar con cosas radicales como esa). Me puse dos anillos, soy incapaz de salir sin anillos y me puse un collar hecho con cadenas que compré en Forever21 el invierno pasado. Me puse una hoodie gris con gris ocuro de zara y un saco negro de zara (quienes viven en la Cd. de México me entenderán) Me puse unos flats negros con piedras pequeñas de colores. Estaba aferrada en no intentar lucir más grande de lo que soy, y en no dejar que esa fea camisa blanca me hiciera desaparecer a mí.
Con mi cabello y maquillaje luciendo similar al de Lana del Rey en la 65 apartura del Festival de Cannes en la premiere de Moonrise Kingdom el año pasado (más un poco de lipstick rosa: Maybelline 803 Impress Me) salí de mi casa lista para mi primer día de trabajo. Creo que lo que intento decir, es que sin importar cuál sea tu trabajo, no debes dejar que éste se vuelva dueño de ti. Debes encontrar la forma de sentirte cómoda con la forma en la que luces, debes adueñarte de tu trabajo. Próximamente, prometo traer más opciones sobre cómo lograr esto. Por ahora, desde el mundo de los trabajos reales para chicas del mundo adulto, me despido.

It all started last weekend when I was informed that I had been hired for a position that actually had something to do with the career I'm studying, that itself was great. I arrived on Tuesday, my first day of work, they showed me the facilities, I was introduced to many of the staff, they showed me my work area. Everything was marvelous until I went to the area of ​​human resources and the girl there asked me my size. I had to wear a uniform. A white shirt that is obviously not meant to make anyone look remotely good and dubious colored pants (a mixture of cream, brown and yellow). I quickly went from heaven to hell. Fortunately, the pants were not in my size (Thanks, Goddess of the offices), so I was just given four white shirts with the logo of the company.
My first day I woke up extra early. Me, me who promised herself I'd never wake up early for mere vanity. There I was, in front of the white shirt that was mocking me while I took a coffee and my beautiful special shirts for work cried because they couldn't be elected to join me on this important day. Fortunately I could use my favorite dark denim jeans, but I had to do more, I had to get back the identity the ugly white shirt had stolen from me. I had to find the perfect balance of accessories, hair and makeup because I wasn't going to the gym nor to a party. I did not want to make Kim Kardashian proud.
So I checked some old blog posts, I remembered I had done one on daily makeup (which you can see here), I was inspired by the first image of Anne Hathaway, I added a little mascara I thought it was appropriate . For my hair I was inspired by the second picture of Keira, my hair is about 15cm longer than hers in the second photography and I have the bottom painted in a ombré style that goes from magenta pink to pastel pink (I know, office work with colored hair: not the best idea. But I'm still young, and I was running out of time to experiment with radical things like that). I got two rings, I can not leave without rings, and put on a chain-necklace that I bought at Forever21 last winter. I put on a gray hoodie from Zara and a black jacket/blazer from Zara (anyone who lives in Mexico City can understand me) I put some black flats with small colored stones. I was eager in not looking older than I am, and to not let that ugly white shirt make me disappear.
With my hair and makeup similar to Lana del Reys at the 65th Cannes Film Festival for the premiere of Moonrise Kingdom last year (plus some pink lipstick: Maybelline 803 Impress Me) I left my house ready for my first work day. I guess what I'm trying to say is that no matter what your job is, you should not let it own you. You must find a way to feel comfortable with the way you look, you must look as good as you feel. You must be you. Soon yours truly promises to bring more options on how to achieve this. For now, from the world of real jobs for big girls, I say goodbye.

Hace unos días se presentó en la Ciudad de México la colaboración entre la diseñadora inglesa Stella McCartney y C&A. Entre las piezas se pueden encontrar vestidos, blusas, sacos, pantalones y faldas entre otros. Todos con prints discretos y cortes rectos, la colección está elaborada con tejidos naturales como lana, seda, algodón y jacquard. Es limitada y estará a la venta a partir del 29 de Octubre. Los precios de la línea serán un poco más altos de lo que generalmente se vende en la tienda, pero creo que el nombre de Stella lo vale; las prendas se venderán desde los $400 hasta los $4,000 pesos.

Aunque tenía mis dudas sobre si Raf Simons podría llenar el vacío que dejó John Galliano en la casa de Dior, ahora que vi (tarde, lo sé) su colección de Primavera/Verano 2013 que se mostró en Paris hace unas semanas, me siento más tranquila. Pero no estoy aquí para hablar precisamente de la ropa, sino del maquillaje que se uso en los ojos.

Me encantó. Los colores brillantes, la forma en la que combinaban con la ropa, lo cargado que era pero que por alguna razón parecía natural. Me parece una idea perfecta, ya que generalmente esa es una época en la que yo personalmente no me maquillo más allá de la base, el rímel y un tono claro para los labios. O rojo, me encanta el rojo.  Pero definitivamente voy a comprar sombras con brillantes azules, morados, naranjas y verdes para la próxima primavera.

I loved it. The bright colors, the way that the colors matched the clothes, it was heavy but for some reason seemed natural. I think it's a perfect idea, because usually this is a time in which I personally only wear base, mascara and a light shade for the lips. Or red, I love red. But I'll definitely buy eye-shadows with bright blues, purples, oranges and greens for next spring.
