¿Cómo limpiar brochas de maquillaje?

Es muy importante lavar tus brochas de maquillaje regularmente para mantenerlas en óptimas condiciones  y para evitar crear infecciones en la piel debido a : maquillaje viejo, tierra, bacterias, aceites y células de piel muerta. Te recomendamos lavarlas una vez a la semana y si sufres problemas de acné tratar de hacerlo aún más seguido para evitar inflamaciones en la piel. Aquí te diremos una manera sencilla de hacerlo en casa y con productos que tienes a la mano. Si prefieres un limpiador profesional te recomendamos comprar un líquido especial que hace el trabajo mucho más rápido, como el MAC Limpiador de brochas que las acondiciona, limpia y quita bacterias.

 

Estos son los pasos para limpiar tus brochas :

1.- Primero es recomendable separar las brochas que usas diario para lavarlas primero y mientras se secan, lavas las demás para poder maquillarte al siguiente día.

2.- Escoge un shampoo transparente y de preferencia suave, yo usé el Enliven de kiwi-higo, debo admitir que no es el ideal pero no encontré el shampoo de bebe que regularmente uso para lavar mis brochas :P .

3.- Enjuágalos suavemente bajo el agua tibia y recuerda nunca hacerlo en contra del pelo de la brocha porque así es más fácil que se le caigan las cerdas y que entre demasiada agua al aro de metal que las sostiene. 

4.- Luego de enjuagarlos con agua, déjalos remojar en el agua tibia y agrega el shampoo para que tomen un baño por cinco minutos. Luego de esto dales vueltas suavemente para que se limpien de los pigmentos del maquillaje y si siguen saliendo sucios aplícales un poco de shampoo con los dedos y enjuágalos hasta que salga el agua transparente.

5.- Después de que se bañaron bien, sécalos ligeramente con una toalla o papel siempre en el sentido de las cerdas para que no pierdan su forma. Después de esto es tiempo de secarlos, es importante que no los pongas a secar boca arriba porque el agua hace que se afloje el pegamento que sostiene los pelitos y se dañen con el tiempo. Una forma sencilla es poniendo algún objeto abajo de la toalla y los recuestas para que las cerdas esten abajo como en la fotografía. 

6.- Después de que se secaron bien, es importante darle forma para que esten en óptimas condiciones. Cada brocha tiene un tiempo diferente de secado ya que algunas son más densas que otras pero déjalas a que sequen muy bien antes de usarlas.

Si lavas y cuidas tus brochas adecuadamente, te pueden durar por años.

  

How to wash your makeup brushes?

It's very important to wash your makeup brushes on a regular basis to keep them in optimal conditions and to avoid creating infections in the skin due to : old makeup, dirt, bacteria, oils and dead skin cells. We recommend you to wash them at least once a week and if you have acne problems try to make it more often to avoid more skin inflammations. If you prefer a more professional cleanser we recomment you to get a special liquit that does the job faster, like the MAC Brush Cleanser that cleans, accondicionates and removes bacteria.  

These are the steps to clean your brushes:

1.- First it's recommendable to separate the brushes you use and a daily basis to wash them first and while these dry, wash the rest to be able to get your makeup done the next morning.

2.- Pick a mild transparent shampoo, I used the Enliven kiwi-fig, I have to admit it's not the ideal one but I didn't find the baby one I regularly wash my brushes with :P .

3.- Rinse them gently over tepid water and remember never to do this against the bristles because it's easier for the hairs to fall and enters too much water in the metallic ring.

4.- After rinsing them, soak them in the tepid water and add shampoo so they can take a bath for five minutes. After this, gently twirl them in the water so they can release dirt and pigments and if the dirt keeps coming off apply a bit of shampoo with your fingers and rinse them until the water runs clear. 

5.- After they took a good bath, lightly pat them with a towel or paper always in the sense the bristles are so they don't loose shape. After this it's time to dry them, it's important to never put them upward because the water makes the glue that holds the hairs weak and in time they fall apart. A simple way to do this is putting an objet under a tower and place them downward like the photograph shows.

6.- After they dried properly it's important to reshape them so they are in optimal conditions. Every brush has a different drying time because of the different densities but dry them completely before you apply your makeup. 

If you wash and take care the properly they can last for years.

Ya llegó el otoño y es hora de ir sacando las bufandas y las botas, pero también esta es tiempo de cambiar de tonos de maquillaje y aquí te diremos como puedes actualizar tu maquillaje para seguir las tendencias de esta temporada. Todos los productos que escogí son bastante moderados de precio y creo que son buenos para probar un nuevo color sin tener que gastar mucho dinero. La temporada esta llena de tonos vino, rojo quemado, nudes, khakis, verdes y colores metálicos neutros.

Fall is here and it's time to be unpacking your scarves and boots, but also it's time to change your makeup tones and here we'll tell you how you can update to follow this seasons' trends. All the products I chose are very moderate in price and I think they are a great wat to try a new color without spending a lot of money. This season is full of wine, burgundy, oxblood, nudes, khakis, military greens and neutral metallics.

Uñas // Nails

Essie en Bahama Mama (un vino con tonos rojizos), Sand Tropez (un nude perfecto) o  si eres más atrevida Sew Psyched (un verde militar mate cremoso). Este es una de las mejores marcas de barnices, casi perfecto solo que no es tan fácil de encontrar en México pero vale la pena si eres una fanática de los barnices de uñas.

Maybelline colorshow en Twilight Rays, Bold Gold o Dressed to Kill no son tan duraderos pero tienen buena cobertura, muy buen precio y es una manera sencilla de probar algún color no tradicional.

Essie in Bahama Mama (a wine with reddish tones),  Sand Tropez (the perfect nude) or if you are more bold, Sew Psyched (a creamy military green). This is one of the best nail polish brands, almost perfect, a bit difficult to find in Mexico but it's worth it if you're a nail polish fanatic.

Maybelline colorshow in Twilight Rays, Bold Gold or Dressed to Kill are not as resistent but have a nice coverage, great price and are an easy way to try a non traditional color.

Labios // Lips

Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick black cherry, un clásico para el otoño que parece no pasar de moda, si eres fan de los lipsticks éste no puede faltar en tu colección. Si lo sientes muy fuerte puedes aplicarlo con los dedos y el color sera mucho más ligero.

Revlon Colorburst lipbutter en Fig jam, es un excelente producto si no quieres mucho color en los labios porque es entre un gloss y lipstick, hidrata mucho y tienen muchos colores perfectos para el otoño.

 Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick black cherry, a classic for fall that doesn't seem to go out of style, it you are a lipstick fanatic this is a must have for your collection. If you feel it's a bit strong, you can apply it with your fingers and the color will be lighter.

Revlon Colorburst lipbutter in Fig jam, an excellent product if you don't want a lot of color in your lips because it's between a gloss and a lipstick, very hydrating and have lots of tones perfects for the fall.

Ojos // Eyes 

Maybelline color tattoo en Bad to the Bronze, Audacious Asphalt y Tough as Taupe son un gran gran producto que duran muchas horas y los colores son muy pigmentados, perfectos para el otoño con las tendencias de colores khaki, verdes militares, marrones y dorados quemados.

L'Oreal color infallible en Permanent Kaki o Hour Glass Beige 2 son unas sombras muy buenas, de textura entre cremosa y polvo que son metálicas y se pueden usar secas o humedeciendo el pincel para mayor impacto, solas o combinarlas.

 Maybelline color tattoo in Bad to the Bronze, Audacious Asphalt and Tough as Taupe are a great great product that last for hours and the colors are very pigmented, perfects for the fall with the trend of colors khaki, military greens, taupes and burned goldens.

L'Oreal color infallible in Permanent Kaki or Hour Glass Beige 2are very good metallic eyeshadows, between a creamy and powdery texture and can be used dry or with a wet brush for more impact, alone or combined.

Mejillas // Cheeks 

El tinte de mejillas y labios de The Body Shop (que en mi opinión es mejor que el Benefit Benetint por la textura en gel y el aplicador) es una gran opción para tener un poco de color en las mejillas que dura muchas horas y no se necesita reaplicar. Este producto yo lo consideraría el más multifacético de todos porque es para labios, mejillas y el color se puede usar tanto en otoño como en verano. Must Have para mí ;)

El blush en crema de Revlon Photoready Cream Blush en Flushed es lindo tono y la textura es perfecta para un clima más frío ya que hidrata las mejillas y se ve más natural que uno en polvo.

The cheek and lip stain of The Body Shop (that in my opinion is better than Benefit Benetint because of the gel texture and the applicator) is a great option to have a little color on the cheeks that last for hours and doesn't need reapplication. This product I'll consider it the most multifacetic of all because is for lips, cheeks and the color you can use it both in fall and summer. A must have for me ;)

The Revlon Photoready Cream Blush in Flushed is a nice color and the texture is perfect for a colder climate because it hydrates the cheeks and looks more natural than a powder one.

Generalmente las marcas más caras tienen mayor pigmentación en la fórmula y son más fáciles de usar. Se sienten más suaves y duran más tiempo porque la cantidad de color es mayor. Es bueno que pruebes diferentes marcas para ver cual es lo que más te agrada y si no tienes muchas sombras es bueno probar con las paletas porque tienen colores diferentes a un buen precio, que puedes usar solo o combinarlas.

Generally the more expensive brands have better pigmentation on their formulas and are easy to use and blend. They feel softer and last longer because of the quantity of pigments they have. It's foog to try different brands to see what you like better and if you are starting to use eyeshadows it's good to try with palettes because they have a varitety of colors at a better price, that you can mix and match.

Este producto es el principal que deberías de ahorrar por dos razones. La primera es que casi todos los rímeles tienen la misma fórmula y lo que cambia es el empaque y la brocha. La segunda razón es que es el producto que debes de cambiar entre 3-5 meses porque se seca muy rápido  y es peligroso usar un rímel viejo ya que es fácil que produzca una infección en los ojos. Los maquilladores profesionales generalmente eligen este tipo de productos que tienen la misma calidad que uno más caro y estos rímeles son de culto desde hace más de cuarenta años.

This product is the main one you should save for two reasons. The first one is that almost every mascara has the same formula and what changes is the package and the brush. The second one is that you should change mascaras every 3-5 months because it dries very fast and it's dangerous to use an old mascara because it can cause eye infections. The professional make up artists generally prefer this products because they have the same quality as an expensive one and some of the above are bestsellers over 40 years.

 

No hay cosa que más me enoje que un barniz malo y que se caiga a las horas que se aplicó. Curiosamente pensé que uno más caro iba a ser mejor pero cual fue mi sorpresa que uno caro es igual o peor que uno más barato. Estas marcar la mayoría se especializa en barnices y por eso recomiendo escoger estas ya que son mejores y tienen una variedad muy extensa de colores. Sé que O.P.I. y Essie no son los más baratos pero valen muchísimo el precio por la calida, es la que la mayoría de los manicuristas prefieren, duran mucho (hasta dos semanas), son muy cubriente y tienen todos los colores que te imagines. 

There isn't a thing that makes me more angry than a bad nail polish that chips a few hours after you apply it. Curiosely I thought a pricier one would be better but at my surprise it turned out to be as bad as a cheaper one. This brands mainly especiallize in nail products and that's why I recommend to choose these because they are better and have an enormous variety of colors. I know that O.P.I. and Essie are not the cheapest ones but they are worth every penny, the majority of manicurists prefere them, they last a lot of time (even two weeks), have an amazing coverage and have any color you can imagine.

Ahora, seguiremos con los labios. Algunos colores son difíciles de usar pero eston tonos le quedan bien a cualquier tipo de piel.

Lipsticks

Coral

El color coral mezcla naranja (un color cálido) y rosa (uno frío) así que se vuelve un color neutral.

Rojo

Todas pueden usar un rojo llamativo. Esto crea un look dramático en complexiones claras y un look más neutro en complexiones morenas.

Nude (piel)

El tono más favorecedor es el que mezcla durazno con un poco de amarillo, lo que deja que el color natural de los labios se pueda ver.

Café

Busca un color que combine café y rosa. Este tono se ve natural tanto en pieles claras como oscuras.

Mora (rosa morado)

Si es traslúcido como el que se muestra en la imagen, le queda bien a todo el mundo. Entre más clara la piel, menos color necesitas.

Rosa

Un color como el siguiente que es suficientemente transparente para dejar ver el tono de labios le queda bien a todo el mundo.

Look for a color that combines brown and pink. It looks natural on dark and light complexions.

Berry
If it's got a sheer texture like this one, it works on everyone. The lighter your skin, the less you need.

Pink
A pink like this one is transparent enough to pump up every natural lip color.
