Ya sea en la portada de Vogue o en una de sus (casi películas) videos musicales, me encanta Lana Del Rey. Desde su maquillaje con pestañas perfectas, pasando por el aire de dramatismo que la rodea y hasta su honestidad, porque ella misma ha dicho: "subir a un escenario no es mi elemento". Pero si alguien se fija en sus videos acústicos, puede darse cuenta de que tiene una buena voz. Dejando ese talento a un lado, hablemos un poco de su estílo y sus planes a futuro.
Whether on the cover of Vogue or in one of her (almost movies) music videos, I love Lana Del Rey. From her makeup with perfect eyelashes, through the dramatic air that surrounds her, to her honesty, because she herself has said it: "when I get on stage that's not my element." But if you have seen one of her acoustic videos, you realize that she actually has a good voice. Leaving that talent aside, let's talk about her style and her future plans.

Ha estado en la portada de Vogue, Glamour, Billboard, Interview, GQ y Rolling Stone entre otras. Actualmente está en la portada de Vogue Australia donde aparece con un look más natural al que nos tiene acostumbrados y como es de esperarse, me encanta. Aparece con una mirada inocente, el cabello más oscuro y recogido recordandome a una Frida Kahlo moderna y mostrando  los tatuajes de sus manos: "Paradise" y "Trust no one".
She has been on the cover of Vogue, Glamour, Billboard, Interview, Rolling Stone and GQ, among others. Right now she's on the cover of Vogue Australia where she appears with a more natural look than what we're used to, and as expected, I love it. She appears with an innocent look, darker hair and braided up reming me of a modern Frida Kahlo and showing the tattoos on her hands: "Paradise" and "Trust no one."

Lana Del Rey es un icóno de la moda que Gracias a Dieu! (junto con Adele) puso de moda una de mis épocas favoritas, los 60s-70s. Con sus pestañas postizas, delineado y cabello perfecto hace que todos los días quiera peinarme y pintarme como ella, pero entonces recuerdo que yo no soy Lana.
Lana Del Rey is a fashion icon Thank Dieu! (along with Adele) made one of my favorite periods fashionable again, the 60s-70s. With her false eyelashes, perfect eyeliner and perfect hair she makes me want to imitate her hair and makeup everyday, but then I remember that I am not Lana.

 Hace poco más de un mes también aparecio en Vogue Italia luciendo hermosa como siempre y con un estilo más decadente y lleno de glamour.
A little over a month ago she also appeared in Vogue Italy looking beautiful as ever and with a more decadent and glamorous look.

 También apareció en la portada de GQ donde la nombran mujer del año y le hacen una de las entrevistas que más me han gustado.
She also appeared on the cover of GQ where she was named woman of the year, the article was great too, it was one of my favorite interviews.

Como ya todos deben de saber, Lana hizo una colaboración con H&M para la campaña de otoño y saldrá a la venta el 20 de Septiembre, pero para alimentar un poco más nuestras ansias ha salido un video "Detrás de cámaras" y el anuncio donde aparece cantando un fragmento de la canción Blue velvet.

As everyone already knows, Lana did a collaboration with H&M for the fall campaign and it will be released on September 20, but to feed a little more our anticipation two videos have already come out, one is a "Behind the scenes" of the recording of the Ad, and the ad itself where she appears singing a snippet of the song Blue Velvet.

  Se dice que recientemente estuvo en Las Vegas grabando el video del sencillo "Ride" de su nuevo disco Born To Die: Paradise Edition que supuestamente saldrá a la venta en Noviembre. 
It is said that she was recently in Las Vegas recording the video for her single "Ride" from her new album Born To Die: Paradise Edition, which its supposed to hit stands in November.

Anunció en Vogue Australia que ya no tiene nada que decir en la música y que lo que ahora desea es escribir para películas, lo cual es bastante predescible si es que has visto sus videos musicales, como National Anthem (mi favorito). Sea lo que sea, estoy segura de que a Lana Del Rey le espera un futuro brillante, aunque admito que la extrañaría en la música.
She announced in Vogue Australia that she has nothing left to say on the music business and that what she now wants to do it write a film, which is pretty predictable if you've seen her music videos, like National Anthem (my favorite). Whatever it is, I'm sure there's a bright future awaiting for Lana Del Rey, though I admit that I would miss her in music.

Aquí te daremos ideas para que lleves uno de estos peinados con inspiración retro sin ser demasiado literal. Muchas artistas y cantantes como Lana del Rey y Adele han ayudado a imponer estas tendencias.

Este es un look clásico de pin-up que puede ayudar en esos días que se te hace tarde y no tienes idea de que hacer con tu cabello.

La semana pasada publicamos nuestro primer post de ícono de belleza: Marilyn Monroe.  Para esta semana hicimos uno un poco diferente y escogí a la modelo/artista/musa y chica it de los 60's,  Edie Sedgewick. Ella fue una de las primeras musas de Andy Warhol y así logro mucha atención de los medios ya que era retratada como la pobre chica rica y excéntrica. Su look fue uno de los más icónicos de finales de los sesentas (el look mod) y se puede usar de diario si no te excedes en el delineador. Este look se puede adaptar para el día a día o usar más dramáticamente para algún disfraz o fiesta. 

Last week we pulished our first beauty icon post : Marilyn Monroe. For this week we did a bit different one and I choose the model/artist/muse and it girl from the 60's, Edie Sedgewick. She was one of the first muses from Andy Warhol and she got a lot of attention from the media because she was portrayed as the poor little and excentric rich girl. Her look was one of the most iconic ones from the sixties (the mod look) and you can use it everyday if you moderate the eyeliner. This look can adapt from a daily basis of more dramatically to fit a costume or a party.

Este look se empieza con una cara limpia y se puede corregir alguna imperfección con base o corrector. Los ojos son el punto focal y se empieza aplicando una sombra blanca con brillo o plateada muy clara en todo el párpado. Luego se pueden aplicar pestañas postizas para extra dramatismo o si es demasiado solo rízalas con un enchinador de pestañas. Después de esto aplica una o dos capas de rímel para que se vean muy abundantes, escogí el Volum Express Falsies Mascara de Maybelline porque es muy bueno ya que el cepillo es curvo y es perfecto para dar una apariencia de pestañas postizas. Luego de terminar con las pestañas sigue algo muy importante para este look, el delineador, es mejor usar uno líquido porque es más preciso y se corre menos. Escogí el delineador negro con aplicador de MAC, se delinea el párpado superior tratando de ir pegado a la línea de las pestañas y luego se delinea la parte de abajo con una línea delgada o gruesa como se prefiera. Se puede alargar el trazo para hacerlo un poco más retro pero si se usa de diario no es muy recomendable, o si se trata de un maquillaje de fantasía, se traza una línea que traze alrededor del ojo como se muestra a continuación: 

This look starts with a fresh face and you can correct any imperfection with foundation or concealer. The eyes are the focal point and you start by aplying a white sheer or light silver eyeshadow in all the eyelid. Then you can put false eyelashes for extra dramatism or if it is too much for you, you can just curl them. After this you apply one or two coats of mascara so the lashes really pop,  I choose a Volum Express Falsies Mascara from Maybelline because it has a very good brush and they trully look like false eyelashes. After finishing with the lashes, another very important step is the eyeliner, It's better to use a liquid one because it's more defining and smudges less. I choose a MAC black eyeliner with the applicator, you line the upper lid trying to go very close to the lash line and then you do the bottom lid thick or thin as you preffer. You can extend the line so that it looks a bit more retro but not too much if it's your daily makeup. If you want to go the extra mile for a party o costume, you can do a line along the lid like the one in the image:

 

Después de terminar estos pasos, siguen los labios y para enfatizar el look escogí un lipstick color nude para que el protagonismo este en los ojos. Se puede delinear y luego rellenar con el mismo lipstick, ya que cada persona tiene una piel distinta es recomendable buscar un tono nude porque por ejemplo a mí los colores que usan en muchos de los tutoriales se ven muy mal y parece que estuve resfriada. En tonos claros de piel se puede usar Soft Nude de Revlon y en tonos de piel más oscuros yo encontré que se ve bien el lipstick color Tenderheart de Clinique pero esto dependerá de tu gusto.

After finishing with those steps, the next are the lips and to enfatize the look I choose a nude lipstick so the eyes have all the attention. You can line and then fill the lips with the same lipstick, because everyone has a different skin tone I recommend to find a nude color that suits you because for example when I use a very pale one I look almost as if I had a cold. In lighter skin colors you can use Soft Nude from Revlon and in darker skin tones I found that the Tenderheart shade from Clinique suits perfectly but it's up on your taste.
