Esta semana escogí a la supermodelo británica que recientemente vimos en la clausura de las olimpiadas, Kate Moss. Esta modelo de 38 años lleva más de 20 años sorprendiéndonos e imponiendo tendencias. Su look característico es el de chica mala y un maquillaje muy despreocupado y rockero. Más abajo te diremos como te puedes maquillar de este modo que es perfecto para salir de noche y combina muy bien con una chamarra de piel. 

The past two weeks we made posts of classic beauty icons that you can check here: Marilyn Monroe and Edie Sedgewick. This week I chose the british supermodel that we recently saw on the closing ceremony of the olympics, Kate Moss. This 38 year old model has 20 years suprising us and setting trends. Her characteristic look is the bad rocker chick and a similar makeup. Down below we will tell you how to get her makeup look ,it's perfect for a night out and it goes amazing with a biker jacket. 

El look favorito de Kate Moss es el smokey eye y para esto escogimos la paleta de colores grises de la marca Rimmel London (que por cierto Kate Moss es la imagen). Se empieza aplicando en todo el párpado la sombra de color más claro que en este caso es el gris aperlado. En la parte exterior del ojo se aplica la sombra de color gris intermedio y se hace una pequeña "V" hacia afuera que luego se desvanece con el pincel para que no se vea tan marcado. Para terminar, se aplica la sombra de color gris oscuro pegado a la linea de las pestañas superior e inferior para hacerlo más dramático y rockero. Si tienes alguna duda, hay una imagen abajo que se ve donde se aplica cada sombra. Se puede usar un primer para sombras si se desea o si se tiene una piel con tendencia a acné. Para darle más fuerza a la mirada se rizan las pestañas y se aplica un rímel negro en las pestañas superiores e inferiores.

Para dejar todo el protagonismo a los ojos se termina este look con un lipstick color nude con un tono base de durazno y si se desea se puede usar un poco de rubor en un tono no muy llamativo para enmarcar la cara. En el pelo ella generalmente lo lleva suelto y natural y se puede aplicar un poco de crema estilizante para evitar el frizz.

Kate Moss' favorite look is the smokey eye and for this we chose the grey eyeshadow palette from Rimmel London (that by the way Kate Moss is the face). You start by applying the lightest shimmery gray in all the lid. On the exterior part of the eye you apply the medium grey and make a little "V" outside and then smudge with a brush so it doesn't look so harsh. To end, you apply the darkest grey close to the line of the lashes superior and inferior to make it more dramatic and rocker. If you have any doubt, there is an image where you can see exactly where you apply it. You can use an eyeshadow primer if you want or if you have oily skin. To give the look more strenght you curl your eyelashes and apply mascara on your top and bottom lashes.

To let all the attention to the eyes you finish the look with a nude lipstick with a peach undertone and if you want a light blush to define your face. To achieve her hair she usually wears it very natural and down , you can apply some styling cream to avoid the frizz.

La semana pasada publicamos nuestro primer post de ícono de belleza: Marilyn Monroe.  Para esta semana hicimos uno un poco diferente y escogí a la modelo/artista/musa y chica it de los 60's,  Edie Sedgewick. Ella fue una de las primeras musas de Andy Warhol y así logro mucha atención de los medios ya que era retratada como la pobre chica rica y excéntrica. Su look fue uno de los más icónicos de finales de los sesentas (el look mod) y se puede usar de diario si no te excedes en el delineador. Este look se puede adaptar para el día a día o usar más dramáticamente para algún disfraz o fiesta. 

Last week we pulished our first beauty icon post : Marilyn Monroe. For this week we did a bit different one and I choose the model/artist/muse and it girl from the 60's, Edie Sedgewick. She was one of the first muses from Andy Warhol and she got a lot of attention from the media because she was portrayed as the poor little and excentric rich girl. Her look was one of the most iconic ones from the sixties (the mod look) and you can use it everyday if you moderate the eyeliner. This look can adapt from a daily basis of more dramatically to fit a costume or a party.

Este look se empieza con una cara limpia y se puede corregir alguna imperfección con base o corrector. Los ojos son el punto focal y se empieza aplicando una sombra blanca con brillo o plateada muy clara en todo el párpado. Luego se pueden aplicar pestañas postizas para extra dramatismo o si es demasiado solo rízalas con un enchinador de pestañas. Después de esto aplica una o dos capas de rímel para que se vean muy abundantes, escogí el Volum Express Falsies Mascara de Maybelline porque es muy bueno ya que el cepillo es curvo y es perfecto para dar una apariencia de pestañas postizas. Luego de terminar con las pestañas sigue algo muy importante para este look, el delineador, es mejor usar uno líquido porque es más preciso y se corre menos. Escogí el delineador negro con aplicador de MAC, se delinea el párpado superior tratando de ir pegado a la línea de las pestañas y luego se delinea la parte de abajo con una línea delgada o gruesa como se prefiera. Se puede alargar el trazo para hacerlo un poco más retro pero si se usa de diario no es muy recomendable, o si se trata de un maquillaje de fantasía, se traza una línea que traze alrededor del ojo como se muestra a continuación: 

This look starts with a fresh face and you can correct any imperfection with foundation or concealer. The eyes are the focal point and you start by aplying a white sheer or light silver eyeshadow in all the eyelid. Then you can put false eyelashes for extra dramatism or if it is too much for you, you can just curl them. After this you apply one or two coats of mascara so the lashes really pop,  I choose a Volum Express Falsies Mascara from Maybelline because it has a very good brush and they trully look like false eyelashes. After finishing with the lashes, another very important step is the eyeliner, It's better to use a liquid one because it's more defining and smudges less. I choose a MAC black eyeliner with the applicator, you line the upper lid trying to go very close to the lash line and then you do the bottom lid thick or thin as you preffer. You can extend the line so that it looks a bit more retro but not too much if it's your daily makeup. If you want to go the extra mile for a party o costume, you can do a line along the lid like the one in the image:

 

Después de terminar estos pasos, siguen los labios y para enfatizar el look escogí un lipstick color nude para que el protagonismo este en los ojos. Se puede delinear y luego rellenar con el mismo lipstick, ya que cada persona tiene una piel distinta es recomendable buscar un tono nude porque por ejemplo a mí los colores que usan en muchos de los tutoriales se ven muy mal y parece que estuve resfriada. En tonos claros de piel se puede usar Soft Nude de Revlon y en tonos de piel más oscuros yo encontré que se ve bien el lipstick color Tenderheart de Clinique pero esto dependerá de tu gusto.

After finishing with those steps, the next are the lips and to enfatize the look I choose a nude lipstick so the eyes have all the attention. You can line and then fill the lips with the same lipstick, because everyone has a different skin tone I recommend to find a nude color that suits you because for example when I use a very pale one I look almost as if I had a cold. In lighter skin colors you can use Soft Nude from Revlon and in darker skin tones I found that the Tenderheart shade from Clinique suits perfectly but it's up on your taste.

Uno de los íconos más admirados de belleza es Marilyn Monroe, hace unos días fue el 50 aniversario de su muerte. Este look esta inspirado en su maquillaje y creo que representa muy bien a toda la década de los 50's. Es un look muy usable y se puede llevar a diario sin caer en maquillaje de fantasía o de fiesta de disfraces.

One of the most admired beauty icons is Marilyn Monroe, a few days ago was the 50th aniversary of her death. This look is inspired by her makeup and I think it represents very well the whole 50's decade. This is a wearable look for a daily basis without falling into a costume party or fantasy look.

Es importante empezar sobre una cara limpia y aplicar una base para que el color de la cara se vea uniforme. Después se aplica un polvo mineral para matificar y quitar cualquier brillo indeseable. 

En los 50's el cat eye era lo de moda y Marilyn Monroe fue una de las más emblemáticas pin-up que lo usó. Se aplican pestañas postizas para un efecto más dramático. Luego se puede aplicar una capa o dos de rímel si se quiere unas pestañas más abundantes. Luego se usa un delineador en el párpado superior del ojo y se extiende un poco para hacer el efecto cat-eye, si te equivocas se puede corregir con un q-tip y líquido desmaquillante.

Los labios rojos son lo más emblemático de esta actriz y se logra con un lipstick rojo con base azul y de preferencia color mate. Los lipsticks M.A.C. son muy buenos y los tonos Ruby Woo o Russian Red funcionan perfectamente. Se delinea con un pincel de labios usando el color y luego se rellena todo el labio hasta lograr un color impactante.

Por último las uñas rojas complementan los labios así que escogí el tono Lollipop de Essie porque es casual sin llegar a verse muy anticuado ya que tiene unos tonos naranjas de base.

 It's important to start on a clean face and apply a foundation to even out the color of the face. After this, you apply a mineral powder to matify  and remove any undesirable shine.

In the 50's the cat-eye was the fashionable look and Marilyn Monroe was one of the most emblematic pin-ups that wear it. You apply false eyelashes for a dramatic effect. Then, if you like, apply a coat or two of mascara to make abundant eyelashes. Then you use an eyeliner on the upper lid and you extend it along the eye until you reach that cat-eye look, you can correct it with a q-tip soaked in makeup remover.

The red lips are the signature look of this actress and you reach it with a red with a blue base and preferently matte. M.A.C. lipsticks are very good and the tones Ruby Woo and Russian Red work just fine. You line the lips with a lip brush using the same color and then you fill all the lip until you get the color you like.

At last red nails compliment the lips, so I choose the tone Lollipop from Essie because is casual without looking too old fashion because it has orange undertones.
