Una de mis metas superficiales para el verano es tener el cabello larguísimo y sano. Sobre todo sano, eso de andarme encontrando puntas abiertas me molesta. Llevo entre 20 y 24 meses probando diferentes cosas en mi cabello para ver qué tal funcionan, así que hoy les traemos los 15 mejores tips para el cuidado del cabello que he recolectado en estos casi dos años.
One of my superficial goals for the summer is to have really long and healthy hair. Specially healthy, going through life finding split ends bothers me. I have around 20 or 24 months trying different things in my hair to see how they work, so today we bring you the 15 best tips for hair care that we have gathered in almost 2 years.

1. Usa un protector de calor SIEMPRE. No importa que sólo vayas a medio secarlo con la secadora o a plancharlo como modelo de pasarela, necesitas un protector de calor. El que yo uso es Turn Up The Heat de Beyond The Zone. Puedes ver su review Aquí// ALWAYS use a heat protector. It doesn't matter if you're just gonna blow it a little with the hair-dryer or go super glam-runway model with the hair straightener, you need a heat protector. 2. Si puedes no usar planchas, secadoras, o pinzas no lo hagas. Sobre todo si ya lo tienes maltratado, es mejor que dejes que tu cabello recupere sus fuerzas. // If you can don't use irons , hairdryers, or curlers. Especially if you already have damaged hair, you better let your hair regain its strength.
3. Despúntalo al menos una vez al mes, si quieres que crezca sano y rápido necesitas quitar lo dañado. Cuando tengo tiempo libre incluso me pongo a cortar pelo por pelo los que están maltratados. // Cut a little of the ends of your hair at least once a month, if you want it to grow healthy and fast you need to get rid of the damaged parts. When I have some free time I sometimes cut one damaged hair at a time
4. Aplica una mascarilla de nutrición al menos una vez al mes. Hay desde las más sencillas (sólo aceite de coco de medios a puntas) hasta las más complicadas con más de 5 ingredientes. Yo suelo aplicar la de aceite de coco y la dejo actuar por tantas horas como me es posible. // Apply a nutrition mask at least once a month . There are from the most simple ones ( coconut oil from half to ends ) to more complicated ones that include more than 5 ingredients. I usually apply coconut oil and let it act for as many hours as I can.
5. Usa productos que ayuden a que el cabello esté sano. Mis favoritos son el aceite de coco de Organix y la crema o aceite nutritivo de L'oréal. // Use products that help you hair to get healthier. Right now my favorites are the coconut oil from Organix and the Extraordinary oil in cream or oil by L'oréal.
6. Agrega pastillas de complejo B a tu shampoo, eso a mi me ha funcionado de maravilla - no sólo ayuda a que crezca sino a evitar que se caiga y a volverlo ligeramente más grueso y fuerte. También es bueno para las uñas.  Puedes ver más sobre eso Aquí y Aquí // Add some B Complex pills to your shampoo, that has done wonders for me - not only does it help your hair to grow but it also help it to stop falling, and it makes it stronger and a little more thick. 7. No lo laves diario, honestamente es lo peor que puedes hacer. Si es posible sólo lávalo 3 o 4 veces a la semana. // Don't wash it every day, it's honestly the worst you can do. If it's possible just wash it 3 or 4 times per week.
8. Masajea tu cabeza. Además de que te ayudará a relajarte, estimulará el crecimiento. Cepillarlo todos los días funciona igual. // Give your head a massage with your finger tips, this will help you realx and stimulate growth. Brush it daily works too.
9. Si vas a decolorarlo te recomiendo el decolorante a base de trigo de L'oréal llamado Platine Precision, yo lo usé cuando me pinte el cabello rosa y casi no me maltrato el cabello. Puedes ver esa info Aquí // If you're going to bleach it I recommend you to use the Platine Precision by L'oréal that's wheat-based, I used it when I dyed my hair pink and it barely damaged my hair. 10. El agua de arroz ayuda a nutrirlo y darle brillo. // Rice water helps nourish and brightens. 
11. Come bien, para que tu cabello crezca y este sano tú necesitas estar sana - así que toma mucha agua y come tantos productos naturales como te sea posible. // Eat well, to make your hair healthy and make it grow you need to be healthy - so drink lots of water and eat as many natural products as you can.
12. Usa un cepillo que no maltrate tu cabello ni lo jale demasiado. Mis favoritos son los anchos de conair. Éste es realmente mu cepillo. // Use a brush that doesn't damages your hair and doesn't pull it too much. My favorites are the wide ones from conair. This is my brush for real. 
13. Antes de salir de la regadera enjuaga tu cabello con agua lo más fría que soportes, esto hará que se sellen  las cutículas para que tu cabello se vea más brilloso y sedoso. // Before getting out of the shower rinse your hair with cold water, as cold as you can. This will seal cuticles so your hair looks shinier and silky.
14. Aplica primero el acondicionador y después el shampoo, esto hará que el cabello obtenga primero mayor hidratación  lo que es equivalente a cabello más sano, brilloso y ayudará a que crezca más rápido. // Apply the conditioner before the shampoo, this way your hair will get more hydration first which is equivalent to healthier, shinier and fast growing hair.
15. Pon aceite en los nudos, puede ser de jojoba, de coco o incluso de oliva. Empápalos totalmente y espera entre 10 y 20 minutos, después intenta desenrredarlos con las manos, será mucho más sencillo y menos dañino que con el cepillo. // Apply oils on your hair knots, it can be jojoba, coconut, oil or any other. cover the knot completely and wait from 10 to 20 minutes then try to disentangle them with your hands, it will be easier and less harmful than with the brush.

Definitivamente el secreto para hacer crecer el cabello es que esté nutrido y bien hidratado. Yo he notado el crecimiento más que nada en mi fleco, ya que antes llegaba justo un poco más arriba de mi mandíbula y ahora está un poco más abajo de mi clavícula - como se puede ver en la foto.
The secret to make hair grow is definitely to have a well nourished and hydrated hair. I've noticed the growth on my bangs that used to be a little above my jaw and now are below my collarbone - as you can see in the picture.

Jamás había usado una máscara de L'Oréal hasta que probé Miss Manga y de verdad me gustó tanto que decidí probar otra. Una amiga me recomendó esta máscara así que decidí que era la indicada. El empaque de False Lash Wings es idéntico al de Miss manga a excepción del diseño del estampado, si leyeron mi Review de Miss Manga saben que hace un pequeño click que puede volverse obsesivo o entretenido. El cepillo es diferente a cualquier cepillo que haya visto antes, la primera vez que lo vi no estaba segura de como usarlo pero con el paso de los días probé sus diferentes lados y ya tengo identificados los mejores lados para mí. Este cepillo te ayuda a llegar a todas las pestañas, a darles un push hacia arriba y además a alargarlas en extremo.
The first L'Oréal mascara I ever tried was Miss Manga and I liked it so much that I decided to try another one.  A friend recommended me to try this one so I decide to give it a go. The case for False Lash Wings is identical to miss Mangas except for the print on it, if you read my review on Miss Manga you know that when you closet it makes a little click that can become obsessive or entertaining.  The brush is different to any mascara brush itve ever seen, the first time I saw it I wasn't sure how to use it but after a couple days I tried it in every single way so by now I know which side of the brush to use according to what look I'm trying to reach. This brush helps you reach every eyelash, it gives a little push up so you can have longer eyelashes and your eyes look bigger.

El look que esta máscara me dio me duro más de 24 horas. Un día estaba exhausta y me dormí sin desmaquillarme y al día siguiente mis pestañas aún se veían geniales, así que si lo suyo es reciclar maquillaje esta máscara es una opción ideal.

The look this mascara gave me lasted more than 24hrs. One day I was too tired to clean my face so I went to bed with makeup on and the next day my eyelashes still looked great, so if you're into recycling makeup this mascara is a great choice.

Al ser waterproof el retirarlo es un poco trabajoso pero definitivamente lo vale después de todo lo que hace por ti. No tiene problemas con la humedad, tu mirada se verá intacta todo el día.  Definitivamente otro de mis favoritos este verano.

Being waterproof makes it hard to remove, but after everything it does for you its absolutely worth it. It has no trouble with humidity, your eyes will look amaizing all day long no matter the weather. Definitely another of my favorites this month

Tanto la fórmula como el color nos ha encantado durante varios meses. Máximo necesitas dos capas y queda perfecta la fórmula, casi como gel pero sin los problemas de removerlo. El color es súper vibrante y si te has bronceado un poco en estas fechas, éste color ayuda muchísimo a resaltarlo. 

We have been loving for several month both the formula and the color from this nail polish. You need at the most 2 coats and it's perfect, almost like gel but without the troubles of removing it. The color is super vibrating and if you have a tan, this color is perfect for enhancing it.

Éste lípstick/bálsamo nos encanta usarlo diario, hidrata los labios y agrega un toque de color perfecto para el verano. Es una mezcla entre naranja y rosa pero es bastante discreto así que lo puedes usar si no te gusta los lipsticks muy pesados. 

This lipstick/balm we love for an everyday use, it hydrates the lips and adds the perfect touch of color for summer. It’s a mix of orange and pink but still pretty discrete, so you can use it if you don’t like heavy lipsticks.

Éste es el lip balm que lo empezó todo, después han sacado miles de versiones pero éste nos sigue encantando. Tiene un color rosa que combina perfecto con ojos un poco más smokey o simplemente si no quieres llevar mucho maquillaje lo puedes aplicar y estás lista para salir. Es hidratante, tiene un buen precio y aparte tiene protección solar 20 ¿qué más se puede pedir?

This is the lip balm that started it all, after this they have made thousands of versions but we still love this. It has a pink hue that it perfect with a smokey eye or simply if you don’t want to wear a lot of makeup, you can just apply it and you’re ready to go. It’s hydrating, has an amazing price and SPF 20, what else can you ask for?

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet - 03 Hot Pepper 


Este producto es el más opaco de los tres, se aplica como gloss y después de 2 capas lo dejas a que seque y queda el lipstick mate perfecto. No reseca nada, dura por mucho tiempo y el color se desvanece parejo. Éste color es una mezcla de rojo con un toque de naranja que se ve muy bien con un bronceado y lo puedes usar en cualquier clima sin que se caiga de los labios. 

This is the most opaque product of these three, you apply it like a gloss and after two layers you let it dry and you have the perfect lipstick. It doesn’t dry the lips, lasts for a long time and the color fades evenly. This color is the perfect mix of red with a hint of orange and looks amazing also with a tan and you can use it in any climate without feathering.

Ésta es una de nuestras máscaras de pestañas favoritas, y su versión waterpoof es perfecta si vas a ir a la playa, a la alberca o simplemente contra las lluvias que han estado acechando en estos días. Te recomendamos cambiar tu máscara de pestañas regular por una a prueba de agua si no quieres terminar como mapache. 

As you may know, this is one of our favorite mascaras and its waterproof version is perfect for the Beach, the pool or just against the rainy weather that it’s lurking lately. We suggest you change your regular mascara for a waterproof version if you don’t want to end like a raccoon (trust us, we’ve been there…)

Éste delineador es perfecto para darle un toque tropical al maquillaje. Es un azul vibrante que lo puedes aplicar solo en la parte de arriba o después de un smokey eye en tonos cafés lo aplicas en la parte de abajo del ojo y se ve increíble. La fórmula también es a prueba de agua y resiste todo tipo de clima, si no te atreves con un color vibrante también tienen muchos colores que los puedes usar diario (negro, café, marrón).

Me choca la sensación de usar base en climas calurosos y húmedos, aparte que si usas una base muy pesada puede ocasionar brotes. Si quieres un poco de cobertura sin la sensación pesada, protección solar e hidratación te recomendamos cambiar tu base en estas fechas por una BB cream. La que escogimos en la de Maybelline, nos encanta y es perfecta para llevarla contigo a cualquier lugar.

I hate the sensation of using a heavy makeup base in hot and humid climates, besides it can cause flares on the skin. If you want a bit of coverage without the heavy sensation, protection from the sun and hydration we recommend you to switch your base in this season for a BB cream. The one we chose is from Maybelline, we love it and it's perfect for carrying it on the go.

The Body Shop Honey Bronzer 04

Si aún no has podido broncearte o solo deseas acentuar el bronceado te recomendamos este bronzer de Body Shop. La textura es increíble, igual o mejor que algunos de mayor precio, es súper fácil de aplicar, no se queda a parches y tienen una selección de colores para todo tipo de piel. Yo uso de las más oscuras pero los tonos 01 y 02 son perfectos si tu tono de piel es claro.

If you haven't been able to tan or if you just want to accentuate the one you have, we recommend you this bronzer from The Body Shop. The texture is amazing, equally or even better that some high end ones, it's easy to apply, doesn't get streaky and has a wide selection of shades for every skintone. I use one of the darkest ones but the shades 01 and 02 are perfect for the paler skintones.

The body shop Body Sorbet - Virgin Mojito

Primero que nada, ésta crema huele increíble! Huele a cítricos con dulce, no huele precisamente a mojito pero el olor es perfecto para el verano. Aparte del increíble olor de la crema, la textura es totalmente diferente a las cremas convencionales, es como un gel que cuando lo vas aplicando se convierte como agua. Si no te gusta ponerte cremas pesadas durante el verano, tienes que probar esta fórmula. Lo malo es que es edición limitada la fragancia, pero durante todo el año tienen sus fragancias icónicas en esta fórmula. 

First of all, the smell of this lotion is amazing! It smells like citrus and sweets, not precisely like a mojito but it's really a summery one. Besides the amazing smell, the texture is like any other conventional lotion, it's like a gel but as you apply it, it becomes like water. If you hate the heavy sensation of lotions during summer, you have to try this formula. The bad thing is that this fragance is limited edition, but they have all the year their iconic fragances in this formula.  

Vichy Capital Soleil Sun Oil SPF 20

Para productos de skincare, últimamente he tenido una obsesión con Vichy, todo lo que he probado ha sido buenísimo y este producto no es la excepción.  Es un aceite con protección solar, es perfecto si te choca la sensación del protector normal que queda pesado y color blanco. Éste se absorbe muy rápido, hidrata pero no queda pegajoso y no deja ese color blanco que no favorece nada. 

For skincare products, lately I've been obsessing over Vichy, everything I've tried has been amazing and this sunscreen it's not the exception. It's an oil with sun protection, it's perfect if you hate the heavy sticky sensation of regular sunscreen. This absorbs quickly, it's hydrating but neither sticky nor white, which looks really bad.  

Victorias secret body Mist en Bombshell

Por último escogimos una de nuestras fragancias favoritas y vimos que tienen versión en body mist. Esta versión es muy práctica para llevar en el bolso, la maleta y es más sutil que la versión normal. Nos encanta aplicarla constantemente antes de salir o después de arreglarnos. También la puedes encontrar en una versión más pequeña para llevarla en el bolso.

At last we chose one of our favorite fragances on its body mist version. This size is really practical for carrying in your purse, luggage and its more subtil than the normal version. We love to apply it constantly before going out or after the daily beauty routine. You can also find it in a smaller version for your handbag.

No soy experta en BB creams pero los resultados que he recibido con la primera que probé (Maybelline 8 in 1) me parecieron muy buenos, así que hace poco decidí atreverme a probar la Hidra-Total-5 de L'Oréal.  A mi parecer esta crema hidratante tiene un poco mas de color que la de Maybelline, lo que logra una mayor cobertura. Mi piel no tiene muchas imperfecciones pero al momento de usarla tenía dos pequeños barros semi rojos y unas ligeras ojeras, todo fue cubierto en casi un 100% lo que me gustó bastante ya que no sentí la necesidad de agregar más maquillaje encima - usualmente sello con polvo después de usar la de maybelline para una mayor cobertura.

I'm not an expert on BB creams, but thé results I got with the first I tried  (Maybelline 8 in 1) were pretty good, so I recently decide to try the Hidra-Total-5 by L'Oréal.  In my opinion these moisturizer cream has more colour that Maybellines, which helps to achieve better coverage. My skin doesn't have too many imperfections hut when I tried it I had to kinda red blemishes and dark circles, everything was almost 100% covered which was great because I didn't felt the need to add more make up - I usually add some powder after I use Maybellines bb cream for better coverage.

Cuando la puse en mi mano para esparcirla me pareció un poco brillosa, pero una vez que mi rostro la absorbió no quedó para nada brillante o grasoso. Así que esta BB Cream hidrata, corrige imperfecciones, unifica el tono de piel y además tiene protección solar. Le tengo un lugar especial en mi corazón a la de Maybelline ya que fue la primera que use, pero si lo que buscas es mayor cobertura definitivamente la de L'Oréal es la adecuada.

When I put it on my hand it looked a little shinny, but after my face absorbed it I noticed it didn't looked shinny or greasy at all. So this BB cream hidrate,  fixes imperfections,  helps you to get a better skin tone and also protects you from the sun. I have a special place in my heart for Maybellines bb cream since it was the first I tried, but if your looking for better coverage L'Oréals is definitely the better choice. 

Amo mi cabello, no cuido nada en mi tanto como a mi cabello - no sé  qué  tan bien hable eso de mí... A lo que voy es a que lo hago pasar por muchas cosas: secados, planchados, decoloraciones, tintes,  etc., por eso siempre estoy buscando nuevas formas de evitar el maltrato y ayudar a hidratarlo. Hace unos meses, cuando estaba en el proceso de pintarlo de rosa, con la compra de un tinte me regalaron una pequeña botella de muestra con el óleo extraordinario de elvive, después de decolorar mi cabello y aplicar los tintes rubios comencé a usarlo.

I love my hair, I don't take care of anything as much as I do it with my hair - I don't know what that says about me... What I'm trying to say is that I put it through so much: hair dryes,  irons, bleach,  hair dyes, etc., that's why I'm always looking for new ways to keep it healthy. A couple months ago, when I was on my way to pink hair, with the purchase or a hair dye I got a free sample of Elvives extraordinary oil, after bleaching NY hair y applying the blonde dyes I started using it. 

Lo que más me gustó fue que desde la primera vez que lo use sentí la diferencia, y en la primera semana de usarlo vi los cambios. Éste óleo de 6 flores preciosas es una maravilla... vuelve tu cabello sedoso y fácil de manejar, ayuda a eliminar la orzuela y le da un brillo y movimiento lo que me encanta. En pocas palabras lo nutre totalmente. Mi cabello quedó un poco seco y maltratado después de dos decoloraciones, dos tintes rubios y estar constantemente aplicando una mezcla de tintes rosas pero este óleo le devolvió la vida en días. Es definitivamente un must, lo recomiendo totalmente. Según el envase puede ser usado en cualquier momento para ayudar con el frizz, retocar peinados, dar brillo y suavidad, incluso antes del secado para ayudar a proteger. 

What I liked the most was that from the first time I used it I felt the difference, and after a week using it I was able to see the changes. This oil from six precious flowers will do wonders for your hair, it makes it silky, easy to handle, help to get rid of open tips and it gives a beautiful shine and movement to your hair. It completely nourished it. My hair was a little dry and damaged after being bleached twice, two blonde dyes and the constant application of a mix of twomen pink dyes but this oil brought it back to life in days. It is definitely a must, I highly recommend it. According to the bottle it can be used at any point to help reduce the frizz, Retouch hairstyles, give shine and smith hair, even before using the hair dryer to help protect the hair.

Recientemente compré  el shampoo, acondicionador y óleo en crema, mi muestra gratis es  una versión de óleo/aceite pero me resulta más manejable la crema, ya que estoy encantada con los resultados y quiero ver qué  más puedo lograr al usar todos los productos de la línea. Sus precios son bastante accesibles, el shampoo y acondicionador en sus versiones de 750 ml. tienen un costo de 48 pesos mexicanos. 

I recently bought the shampoo and conditioner along with th extraordinary oil in a creamy balm, I love the results of just the oil so I can't wait to see what the rest of the line can do. The price is very low in México, so that was a plus too.

Algo que hice también,  fue ponerle vitamina B al shampoo ya que he estado leyendo que esto ayuda a que el cabello crezca más rápido,  pero cuando tenga resultados haré un post al respecto. 

Something I did too was put some vitamin b on the shampoo because I've been reading that this helps to make your hair grow faster, but I'll write about it when I see the results. 

Desde que vi el promo en internet de Miss Manga sentí la necesidad de tenerlo. No voy a mentir, la mercadotecnia sabe cómo llegar a mi corazón. Pero decidí ser prudente, comencé a buscar reviews para saber qué opinaban otras personas de este nuevo rímel. Las opiniones iban desde personas que lo odiaban hasta personas que lo amaban y prometían no volver a usar otro rímel que no fuera Miss Manga. Así que lo compré, tenía que probarlo. Resistí la urgencia de desmaquillarme justo después de comprarlo y esperé al día siguiente para probarlo durante todo el día.

From the moment I saw the Miss Manga promo online I knew I needed to have it. I'm not gonna lie, marketing knows the way to my heart. But I decided to be cautious, I started to look for reviews to know what other people were thinking about this new mascara. Opinions went from people who hated it to people who swore they would never use anything that wasn't Miss Manga. So I bought it, I had to try it. I fought the urge to take my makeup off my face and try it the second I got home, I wanted to try it for the whole day. 

Comenzaré por hablar del empaque, el rosa en la tapa es bastante brillante, y me gusta el contraste con las letras grandes. Tal vez es un poco grande pero no me molesta. La tapa hace un clic al cerrarse que podría aumentar un trastorno obsesivo compulsivo o entretenerte, depende de cada quien. El cepillo es bastante grande, mide aproximadamente lo mismo que mi ojo y yo no tengo ojos pequeños. Las cerdas del cepillo van de largas a cortas en la punta lo cual hace fácil llegar a las pestañas más pequeñas o de difícil acceso, el cepillo también tiene un movimiento 360 similar al One By One de Maybelline.
I'll starts with the packing, the pink on the lid is very shinny and I like the contrast with the very big letters. It's a little to big but I don't mind. The lid makes a little click when you close it right which can start an OCD or entretain you, it depends. The brush is very big, like the size of my eyes. The bristles go from long to short which makes it easier to get to all your lashes. It has a 360 flexor brush similar to the One by one Maybelline brush, which can be helpful. 

Ahora lo mas importante, después de aplicar la primera capa quedé impresionada. Mis pestañas obtuvieron volumen y se volvieron más gruesas y negras. Para la segunda capa estaban mucho más largas y gruesas, también se veían un poco rizadas y me pareció que daba la impresión de que traía pestañas postizas. Me atemorizaba un poco pintar las inferiores por lo grande del cepillo pero al hacerlo noté que es bastante controlable y no me manchó como había temido. No apliqué una tercera capa a mis pestañas porque con la segunda me pareció suficiente, pero probablemente habrían quedado mucho más largas; otra cosa que quiero hacer es usarla sobre las pestañas rizadas pero no me apresuro, Miss Manga y yo tenemos mucho tiempo para hacer cosas juntas.

Now the important part,after the first coat I was impressed. My eyelashes got volume, they got longer, thicker and very black. After the second coat they were a lot more longer and thicker, it even looked like I was wearing fake lashes. I was a little scared of coating my lower lashes because the brush is really bigbut after I did it I found out there was nothing to fear. I did not apply a third coat of mascara because I was pretty happy with the look I had, but I will probably apply more coats next time just to find out when is the point of no return. I'm not in a hurry though, Miss Manga and I will have a long time together to do anything we want.

En general me gustó mucho está mascara, compré la versión a prueba de agua ya que donde vivo tiende a haber mucha humedad, lo que me recuerda que en todo el día no se me corrió lo cual me sorprendió ya que a veces otras mascaras waterproof que he comprado tienden a correr se un poco. Básicamente lo que intento decir es que si volvería a comprarla. Oh, y si, retirarla es un poco complicado al igual que con todas mas cascaras a prueba de agua - pero lo vale.

I really liked this mascara, I bought the waterproof version because where I live there's a lot of humidity, which makes me remember that Miss Manga never let me down, she stayed in my lashes and didn't smudge around my eye like others mascaras usually do. Basically what I'm trying to say is that I will definitely buy it again. Oh, and yeah, the struggle is real when you're trying to take it off just like with other waterproof mascaras - but she's worth it.
