Verde: Es preferible escoger un tono color musgo ya que el amarillo de base le queda bien a cualquier tipo de piel. 

Azul Marino: Queda muy bien tanto a tonos más claros para un smokey eye como a tonos más oscuros. 

Café: Para escoger un tono usable, escoge un café que tenga tonos cálidos porque complementa a tonos de piel olivo y en tonos más claros contrasta muy bien.

Recently  I saw the film "Bachelorette" with Kirsten Dunst, Isla Fisher and Lizzy Caplan, is needless to say that it's a very funny film, in which I could not help but notice the nail-art style in Lizzys nails, a mix in two colors that I had seen in magazines but I hadn't really seen it in anyone.

Este estilo se vio primero en la pasarela de Vena Cava durante la primavera del año pasado y la verdad es que es muy sencillo hacerlo y le da un estilo diferente a tus uñas para que salgas de la rutina de un solo color. Lo único que necesitas es dos esmaltes de diferentes colores (asegurate de que combinen), pintar toda tu uña con uno de los colores y después usar una estampa para crear la forma de luna nueva y pintar con el otro color encima, y después un barníz transparente tal y como se muestra en esta imagen:

Las pasadas dos semanas hicimos posts de varios íconos de belleza que los puedes leer aquí :Marilyn Monroe y Edie Sedgewick. Esta semana escogí a la supermodelo británica que recientemente vimos en la clausura de las olimpiadas, Kate Moss. Esta modelo de 38 años lleva más de 20 años sorprendiéndonos e imponiendo tendencias. Su look característico es el de chica mala y un maquillaje muy despreocupado y rockero. Más abajo te diremos como te puedes maquillar de este modo que es perfecto para salir de noche y combina muy bien con una chamarra de piel. 

The past two weeks we made posts of classic beauty icons that you can check here: Marilyn Monroe and Edie Sedgewick. This week I chose the british supermodel that we recently saw on the closing ceremony of the olympics, Kate Moss. This 38 year old model has 20 years suprising us and setting trends. Her characteristic look is the bad rocker chick and a similar makeup. Down below we will tell you how to get her makeup look ,it's perfect for a night out and it goes amazing with a biker jacket. 

El look favorito de Kate Moss es el smokey eye y para esto escogimos la paleta de colores grises de la marca Rimmel London (que por cierto Kate Moss es la imagen). Se empieza aplicando en todo el párpado la sombra de color más claro que en este caso es el gris aperlado. En la parte exterior del ojo se aplica la sombra de color gris intermedio y se hace una pequeña "V" hacia afuera que luego se desvanece con el pincel para que no se vea tan marcado. Para terminar, se aplica la sombra de color gris oscuro pegado a la linea de las pestañas superior e inferior para hacerlo más dramático y rockero. Si tienes alguna duda, hay una imagen abajo que se ve donde se aplica cada sombra. Se puede usar un primer para sombras si se desea o si se tiene una piel con tendencia a acné. Para darle más fuerza a la mirada se rizan las pestañas y se aplica un rímel negro en las pestañas superiores e inferiores.

Para dejar todo el protagonismo a los ojos se termina este look con un lipstick color nude con un tono base de durazno y si se desea se puede usar un poco de rubor en un tono no muy llamativo para enmarcar la cara. En el pelo ella generalmente lo lleva suelto y natural y se puede aplicar un poco de crema estilizante para evitar el frizz.

Kate Moss' favorite look is the smokey eye and for this we chose the grey eyeshadow palette from Rimmel London (that by the way Kate Moss is the face). You start by applying the lightest shimmery gray in all the lid. On the exterior part of the eye you apply the medium grey and make a little "V" outside and then smudge with a brush so it doesn't look so harsh. To end, you apply the darkest grey close to the line of the lashes superior and inferior to make it more dramatic and rocker. If you have any doubt, there is an image where you can see exactly where you apply it. You can use an eyeshadow primer if you want or if you have oily skin. To give the look more strenght you curl your eyelashes and apply mascara on your top and bottom lashes.

To let all the attention to the eyes you finish the look with a nude lipstick with a peach undertone and if you want a light blush to define your face. To achieve her hair she usually wears it very natural and down , you can apply some styling cream to avoid the frizz.

Exfoliante Cítrico:
Esta es una receta fantástica y estoy segura de que tendras todos los ingredientes en su cocina.
Necesitas:
1 taza de sal marina
1/4 taza de aceite vegetal (o de oliva, de almendras o aceite de coco)
1/2 cucharadita de jugo de limón
Primero mezcla el aceite y la sal de mar, (agrega un poco de aceite a la vez, puede que no necesite todo o que tal vez necesites un poco más). Añade el jugo de limón sobre la mezcla de sal y aceite. (Asegúrate de no echar demasiado para que no quede demasiado líquido). Mezclalo bien y guárdalo en un recipiente hermético.
¿Cómo exfoliar?
Limpia tu cuerpo de forma normal en la ducha. Justo antes de salir, aplica el exfoliante de sal firmemente en movimientos circulares sobre todo el cuerpo. Concéntrate en las rodillas y los codos. Enjuagua y  listo!


Citrus Scrub:
This is a fantastic recipe and I'm sure you'll have all the ingredients in your kitchen.
What you need
1 cup sea salt
1/4 cup vegetable oil (or olive, almond or coconut oil) 
1/2 tsp lemon juice
First mix the oil and sea salt (add a little oil at a time, you may not need all or maybe you'll need a little more). Add the lemon juice over the mixture of salt and oil. ( you do not want too much lemon juice, or else your mixture will become a watery consistency. ). Mix well and store in an airtight container.
How to exfoliate?
Cleanse your body normally in the shower. Just before getting out,  apply the salt scrub in a firm circular motion all over your body.  Concentrating on your knees and elbows! Rinse and you're ready!

Mezcla y aplícalo firmemente sobre tu cuerpo después de limpiarte en la ducha.  Enjuaga y secate; tu piel se sentira tan suave como la mantequilla.

1 cup raw oatmeal
1 cup olive oil. 
Mix and apply firmly over your body after the shower. Rinse and dry, your skin will feel as smooth as butter.

Debo empezar por decir que éste método no es del todo sencillo, menos si es la primera vez pero creo que la práctica puede volverte una experta. La primera vez que yo lo hice no logré absolutamente ni una sola figura, utilicé cuatro colores y lo único que logré fue mancharme los dedos y desesperarme, pero para la segunda bajé a dos colores y logré crear algunas figuras en mis uñas. Mi recomendación si quieres aplicar este nail art es que utilices esmaltes muy líquidos y que el agua esté tibia, si está fría el esmalte no se extenderá sobre el agua y si está muy caliente te quemarás los dedos. 

1. Llena un vaso o taza con un poco de agua tibia (si utilizas un recipiente muy grande sólo gastaras esmalte).
2. Elige los esmaltes que quieres usar, si son de esos que necesitan de varias capaz para obtener un buen color no funcionara bien.
3. Yo empecé con el color más claro (rosa), dejé caer dos gotas sobre el agua y la pintura se extendió formando un circulo, después hice lo mismo con el color más oscuro (morado).
4. Utilizando un palillo (puede ser también un pincel o tal vez incluso una aguja) arrastra el borde de la pintura hacia el centro. Continua moviendo el barniz hasta que encuentres un diseño que te guste. 
5. Puedes cubrir alrededor de tu uña con cinta adhesiva para que no se manche tu dedo, yo lo hice la segunda vez. 
6. Mete tu dedo al vaso (preferentemente de forma horizontal) y asegúrate de sumergirlo completamente.
7. Utiliza el palillo para trazar al rededor de tu uña y así cortar el esmalte que no utilizas.
8. Saca tu dedo del vaso y deja que la pintura se seque. 
9. Repite los pasos con el resto de tus uñas, puedes utilizar los pedazos de esmalte que dejaste en el vaso al sacar la anterior o comenzar desde el principio. 
10. Aplica un esmalte transparente para proteger el diseño y listo. 

I must start by saying that this method is not entirely simple, less if it's the first time you try it but I think practice can make you an expert. The first time I tried it I couldn't make any figure, I used four colors and the only thing I did was stain my fingers and lose my cool, but the second time I tried it I only used two colors and managed to create some figures on my nails. My recommendation if you want to apply this nail art is that you should use very liquid nail polishes and the water should be warm, if it's cold the nail polish will seize up, and if it's too hot you'll burn your fingers.
1. Fill a glass or cup with a warm water (If you use a very large container you'll only waste nail polish).
2. Choose the polishes you want to use, keep in mind the opacity of thepolish you are using, if its too sheer, it might not look right.
3. I started with the lightest color (pink), load up the brush and let a big drop (or two) of polish fall into the water. The paint will spread in a circle, then do the same with the darkest color (purple).
4. Using a toothpick ( you can also use a thin paintbrush or perhaps even a needle) drag the edge of the paint to the center. Continue moving the polish until you find a design you like.
5. You can cover around your nail with tape so it does not stain your finger, I did this the second time.
6. Put your finger into the glass (preferably horizontal) and be sure to completely submerge it.
7. Use the stick to trace around your nail and gather up all the unused nail polish in the glass. 
8. Lift your finger out of the glass and let the paint dry.
9. Repeat the steps with the rest of your nails, you can use the pieces of polish you left on the glass from the previous nail or start from the beginning.
10. Apply top coat to protect the design and that's it.

La practica hace la perfección, así que no te desanimes si no lo logras la primera vez.
Practice makes perfect, so don’t get discouraged if you don’t get it right the first time.

 

CHA CHA TINT

 

Desde hace bastante tiempo quería probar los productos (en especial las cheek stains) de la marca Benefit. Había leído en muchos blogs acerca de la Benetint y leyendo otras reseñas ví que podía verse algo pálido en mi color de piel y recomendaban esta tinta de mejillas y labios. Debo admitir que los blushes son de mis productos favoritos así que fuí al mostrador de Benefit a probar los diferentes tonos y quedé enamorada. Esta tinta según la página da un brillo tropical que dura y dura que hace parecer como su te hubieras bronceado ligaramente. Creo que es un excelente producto ya que me lo apliqué en la mañana y me dura hasta la noche, se ve súper natural y perfecto para diario. Para diario no me gusta maquillarme muy fuerte y solo apliqué un protector solar Eau Thermalle de Avène para piel con acné,  luego el corrector de Clinique, dos capas de rímel The Colossal Volume Express de Maybelline, Look Felino y esta tinta. Es muy fácil de aplicar, solo se ponen unas gotas en las manzanas de las mejillas y se difumina con los dedos. En el mostrador lo hicieron con una brocha pero intenté hacerlo y fue un desastre, así que prefiero hacerlo con los dedos. Luego apliqué del mismo producto en los labios y eso fue todo. La botella esta de un tamaño razonable y creo que me durará mucho así que creo que vale lo que cuesta totalmente. Quedé muy feliz con este producto y le daría un diez de calificación, no puedo esperar a probar otros productos de Benefit.

It's been a long time since I wanted to try the products (especially the cheek stains) from Benefit. I've read in many blogs about Benetint and viewing other reviews I saw that it can look a bit pale on my skin and they recomended this cheek and lip stain. I have to admit that blushes are one of my favorite beauty products so I went to the Benefit counter to try the different tones and I fell instantly in love. According to their website "This mango-tinted stain beautifully blushes lips & cheeks with a tropical sunset hue. Smooch-proof & smudge-proof, this sheer stain will have you looking deliciously sun-kissed for hours." I trully believe this is an excellent product because I applied it in the morning and it does stay until the night, looks very natural and it's perfect for a daily basis. For everyday I don't like to apply too much makeup and I just applied a sunscreen Eau Thermalle from Avène for acne prone skin, then Clinique concealer, two coats of The Colossal Volume Express from Maybelline Feline Look mascara and this tint. It's very easy to apply , you just put a tiny dots on the apples of your cheeks and smudge it with your fingers. In the counter they put it with a brush and I try to do it that way but it was a mess, so I prefered to do it with my fingers. Then I apply the same product on my lips and that was it. The bottle is a reasonable size and I think it will last so I believe it is worth totally what it costs. I am very happy with this product and I would give it a ten, cannot wait to try other Benefit products!

 

La semana pasada publicamos nuestro primer post de ícono de belleza: Marilyn Monroe.  Para esta semana hicimos uno un poco diferente y escogí a la modelo/artista/musa y chica it de los 60's,  Edie Sedgewick. Ella fue una de las primeras musas de Andy Warhol y así logro mucha atención de los medios ya que era retratada como la pobre chica rica y excéntrica. Su look fue uno de los más icónicos de finales de los sesentas (el look mod) y se puede usar de diario si no te excedes en el delineador. Este look se puede adaptar para el día a día o usar más dramáticamente para algún disfraz o fiesta. 

Last week we pulished our first beauty icon post : Marilyn Monroe. For this week we did a bit different one and I choose the model/artist/muse and it girl from the 60's, Edie Sedgewick. She was one of the first muses from Andy Warhol and she got a lot of attention from the media because she was portrayed as the poor little and excentric rich girl. Her look was one of the most iconic ones from the sixties (the mod look) and you can use it everyday if you moderate the eyeliner. This look can adapt from a daily basis of more dramatically to fit a costume or a party.

Este look se empieza con una cara limpia y se puede corregir alguna imperfección con base o corrector. Los ojos son el punto focal y se empieza aplicando una sombra blanca con brillo o plateada muy clara en todo el párpado. Luego se pueden aplicar pestañas postizas para extra dramatismo o si es demasiado solo rízalas con un enchinador de pestañas. Después de esto aplica una o dos capas de rímel para que se vean muy abundantes, escogí el Volum Express Falsies Mascara de Maybelline porque es muy bueno ya que el cepillo es curvo y es perfecto para dar una apariencia de pestañas postizas. Luego de terminar con las pestañas sigue algo muy importante para este look, el delineador, es mejor usar uno líquido porque es más preciso y se corre menos. Escogí el delineador negro con aplicador de MAC, se delinea el párpado superior tratando de ir pegado a la línea de las pestañas y luego se delinea la parte de abajo con una línea delgada o gruesa como se prefiera. Se puede alargar el trazo para hacerlo un poco más retro pero si se usa de diario no es muy recomendable, o si se trata de un maquillaje de fantasía, se traza una línea que traze alrededor del ojo como se muestra a continuación: 

This look starts with a fresh face and you can correct any imperfection with foundation or concealer. The eyes are the focal point and you start by aplying a white sheer or light silver eyeshadow in all the eyelid. Then you can put false eyelashes for extra dramatism or if it is too much for you, you can just curl them. After this you apply one or two coats of mascara so the lashes really pop,  I choose a Volum Express Falsies Mascara from Maybelline because it has a very good brush and they trully look like false eyelashes. After finishing with the lashes, another very important step is the eyeliner, It's better to use a liquid one because it's more defining and smudges less. I choose a MAC black eyeliner with the applicator, you line the upper lid trying to go very close to the lash line and then you do the bottom lid thick or thin as you preffer. You can extend the line so that it looks a bit more retro but not too much if it's your daily makeup. If you want to go the extra mile for a party o costume, you can do a line along the lid like the one in the image:

 

Después de terminar estos pasos, siguen los labios y para enfatizar el look escogí un lipstick color nude para que el protagonismo este en los ojos. Se puede delinear y luego rellenar con el mismo lipstick, ya que cada persona tiene una piel distinta es recomendable buscar un tono nude porque por ejemplo a mí los colores que usan en muchos de los tutoriales se ven muy mal y parece que estuve resfriada. En tonos claros de piel se puede usar Soft Nude de Revlon y en tonos de piel más oscuros yo encontré que se ve bien el lipstick color Tenderheart de Clinique pero esto dependerá de tu gusto.

After finishing with those steps, the next are the lips and to enfatize the look I choose a nude lipstick so the eyes have all the attention. You can line and then fill the lips with the same lipstick, because everyone has a different skin tone I recommend to find a nude color that suits you because for example when I use a very pale one I look almost as if I had a cold. In lighter skin colors you can use Soft Nude from Revlon and in darker skin tones I found that the Tenderheart shade from Clinique suits perfectly but it's up on your taste.

From the moment I saw the bottle it caught my eye, but when I smelled it I fell in love. I loved the sweet and intoxicating tropical scent, made me feel like I was at the beach during the best time of summer so of course I bought it.
