Así como me gusta ver que productos les han funcionado a otras personas, también creo que es bueno hablar de los productos que no cumplieron las expectativas. En el post de hoy hablaré de productos que no cumplieron mis expectativas, no exactamente quiero decir que son malos pero sí que no son tan maravillosos como todos los pintan. 
Y para no hacer este post tan pesimista puse alguna opción alternativa que me ha funcionado :)

I love reading what products are peoples favorites, but I thinks it's good to talk about the products that don't lived up to the expectation. In this post I'll talk about the products that weren't worth the hype for me, this doesn't mean that they are bad, just that they weren't as wonderful as I imagined. 
Also to not make this post a Debbie Downer, I suggested an alternative that has worked for me :) 

1.- Nuxe Rêve de Miel.

Éste bálsamo que todo el mundo ama a mí en lo personal no me pareció tan maravilloso como dicen. La textura es muy grumosa y espesa, se supone que se aplica en la noche antes de dormir para que tus labios amanezcan como los de Angelina Jolie, pero la verdad no me encantó este producto. Todavía voy a la mitad del bote y lo pienso terminar pero definitivamente no lo compraría de nuevo.

En vez de este recomendaría definitivamente su hermano pequeño, el que viene en un tubo portátil como lipstick, la fórmula es diferente y ¡éste es uno de mis bálsamos favoritos! Generalmente vienen en un paquete con dos y ya me terminé uno de estos. Si quieres una opción más económica, te recomiendo el bálsamo EOS, uno de mis favoritos de bajo costo.

This lipbalm that everybody and their grandmother loves, for me wasn’t that special. The texture was very gritty and thick, you’re supposed to apply it before bed so that when you wake up your lips are like Angelina Jolie’s but it didn’t do much for me. I’m still half through the pot and I intend to finish I but I wouldn’t repurchase it.

Instead of this I definitely would recommend its little brother, the one that comes in a portable lipstick-like tube, the formula is different and it’s one of my favorite lipbalms! It generally comes in a package of two and I already finished two of them. If you wan’t a cheaper option, I recommend the EOS lipbalm, one of my favorite budget products. 

2.- L’oreal Telescopic Waterproof Mascara

Ésta compra fue 100% inducida por mi youtuber favorita, Viviannadoesmakeup. Es su máscara de pestañas favorita y como sus recomendaciones son siempre excelentes, sabía que tenía que probar éste producto. La verdad no me impresionó para nada, sí separa las pestañas pero no aportaba nada de volumen y tampoco era muy resistente al agua. Él tubo que compre me lo acabé hace varios meses pero no lo volvería a comprar. Mi máscara de pestañas favorita de L’oreal es la Voluminous Waterproof. Ésta creo que es mi máscara de pestañas waterproof favorita, resiste todo y hace que mis pestañas se vean increíbles.

This purchase was 100% induced by my favorite youtuber, Viviannadoesmakeup. It’s her holy grail mascara and because her recommendations are always amazing, I knew I had to try this product. The truth is that I wasn’t impressed at all, it separated my lashes but it didn’t provide volume and wasn’t water resistant. The tube that I had I finished months ago but I wouldn’t repurchase it. My favorite mascara from L’oreal is the Voluminous Waterproof. This is my favorite waterproof mascara ever; it resists everything and makes my lashes look great. 

3.- Kiehl's Skin Rescuer

Cuando compré este producto, tenía muchas esperanzas en él. Prometía calmar la rojez de la cara, minimizar los efectos del estrés, hidratante y básicamente lo mejor de este mundo. Había oído en muchos blogs que era muy bueno y en la tienda también me lo recomendaron mucho así que creí ciegamente en el marketing de este producto. 
Generalmente Kiehl’s me encanta, pero este producto no cumplió mis expectativas. Sí es hidratante pero no noté diferencia en la rojez de la cara y la cara quedaba brillante todo el día. Terminé este producto pero no lo volvería a comprar. 
De Kiehl’s me quedo definitivamente con el Ultra Facial Moisturizer Lotion en Oil Free, uno de mis hidratantes preferidos, ¡es buenísimo!

When I bought this product I had really high hopes in it. It promised to calm redness, minimize stress’ effects, hydrate and basically be the best thing in this world. I’ve heard so much good reviews in other blogs and videos, and in the store they recommend the product so I blindly believed the marketing of this product.

I generally love Kiehl’s, but this didn’t live up to the hype at all. It’s hydrating but it didn’t calm the redness and my face was shining all day. I finished this product but I wouldn’t repurchase it again.

From Kiehl’s I’ll recommend 100% the Oil Free Ultra Facial Moisturizer Lotion, one of my favorite hydrating creams, it’s amazing!

4.- MAC Fix +

Éste spray prometía ser muy bueno para fijar el maquillaje, refrescar el rostro y para mil cosas más pero la verdad no me pareció nada sorprendente. Lo único que si me encantó es el empaque ya que compre la versión mini del producto y lo terminaré pero no le veo el caso a comprarlo de nuevo. 
El producto que recomendaría es el Matte Setting Spray de Nyx, es básicamente lo mismo pero fija mejor el maquillaje y el precio es mucho más accesible. 

This spray promised to fix your makeup, refresh your face and a thousand other uses but I didn’t find it amazing at all. The one thing that I loved was the packaging because I bought the mini version and I’ll finish it but don’t see the point in repurchasing.

The product I would recommend is Nyx’s Matte Setting Spray, it’s basically the same thing but fixes better your makeup and the price is super accessible.

5.- Origins Super Spot Remover

Éste fue el primer producto de Origins que probé, definitivamente no quedé impresionada con él. Es un gel que aplicas en los brotes de tu cara y se supone que ayuda a reducirlos y a que curen más rápido pero en mí no hizo nada de nada. Aún me queda la mitad del frasquito y lo usaré hasta terminarlo, igual y mi piel o el producto cambian de opinión y se hacen amigos juntos. 
No tengo ninguna recomendación para este producto ya que sigo buscando algo milagroso pero he oído buenas cosas del Aceite de Té de Body Shop.

This was my first Origins product and definitely wasn’t impressed with it. It’s a gel that you apply in your spots and it’s supposed to help them heal faster and make them smaller but in my face it did nothing at all. I still have half of the bottle and I’ll finish it, hoping that my skin of the product change opinion and get along.

I don’t have any recommendation instead of this product, I’m still on the hunt for some miraculous product but I’ve hear the Tea Tree Oil from The Body Shop is great.

6.- Covergirl Lashblast Waterproof Mascara

Ésta máscara de pestañas la terminé hace unos 6 meses, la verdad es que no es una mala máscara de pestañas pero no me encantó. Estaba buscando una waterproof y que alargara y diera volumen pero no hizo ninguna de estas tres cosas bien. La verdad no la volvería a comprar pero no creo que sea un mal producto. 
Quisiera probar después la máscara Clumpcrusher de la misma marca, he leído reseñas buenísimas de ella.

This mascara I finished it about 6 months ago, truth it’s not a bad product but I didn’t love it. I was searching for a waterproof mascara that gives volume and lengthens but it didn’t do any of these three things well. I wouldn’t repurchase it but it wasn’t bad.

The Covergirl mascara I wish to try next is the Clumpcrusher, I´ve heard great reviews about it.

7.- Benefit Push up liner

Ésta compra debo confesar que fue una resbalada en la mercadotecnia de Benefit, que generalmente me encanta. Cuando salió leí reseñas mezcladas y no estaba segura si me serviría, pero caí en la tentación ya que estaba en todas partes. Debo admitir que estoy de acuerdo con las reseñas, no es malo pero no es la mejor fórmula que hay. La verdad es que lo sigo usando y siempre lo traigo en la bolsa básicamente porque no puedo vivir sin delineador (muy dramático…lo sé) y es práctico para cuando no me da tiempo de usar uno con brocha. No creo que lo volvería a comprar, pero igual y me termina convenciendo lo práctico. 
Si apenas estás probando con delineador en gel te recomiendo el de Bobbi Brown, es por mucho mi favorito. Dura bastante, el color es muy pigmentado y hasta ahorita no he tenido problemas con que se seque (llevo con él un año y medio).

This purchase I must confess it’s a slip into the Benefit’s marketing, which I generally love. When it released I read mixed reviews and wasn’t sure if it was for me but I fell into temptation. I must admit I agree with the reviews, it’s not bad but the formula it’s not the best one. Truth is I still use it and I carry it in my hand bag basically because I can’t live without eyeliner (very dramatic…I know) and it’s practical for when I don’t have the time to use one with a brush. I don’t think I would repurchase it, but maybe its practicality convinces me.

If you’re entering the gel liner world I recommend you the Bobbi Brown one, it’s by far my favorite. It lasts a long time, the color is super pigmented and until now it hasn’t dried (I’ve had the actual pot for a year and a half).

8.- Urban Decay Primer Potion

Dejé el artículo más "controversial" para el final, el primer potion de Urban Decay. Éste primer de ojos es el mejor vendido y sonado así que cuando lo probé esperaba a que fuera el mejor invento de este siglo. Desafortunadamente no me pareció increíble, es un poco espeso y a veces no se puede difuminar perfectamente en el párpado. El tubito que tengo es la segunda muestra que venía en una de las paletas y lo terminaré ya que mi primer favorito se terminó. 

Mi primer de ojos favorito es el Shadow Insurance de Too Faced, me encanta porque es más ligero, fácil de difuminar y de verdad que las sombras duran todo el día. 

I saved the most “controversial” product for last, Urban Decay’s Primer Potion. This eye primer is the bestseller and most known of them all so when I tried it I expected to be the best invention of the century. Unfortunately I didn’t find it amazing, it’s a little thick and sometimes I can’t blend it in my eyelid. The little tube is the second sample that came with the eyeshadow palettes and I’ll finish it because my favorite it’s gone.

My favorite eye primer is Too Faced Shadow Insurance, I love it because it’s light, easy to blend and the eyeshadows truly last all day.

Pelo y cuerpo // Hair and body 

Organix Moroccan seasalt spray, The Body Shop Honey Bronze shimmering dry oil

Para darle ese look de playa escogimos un spray de sal de la marca Organix que lo aplicas después de lavarte el pelo y lo puedes dejar secar al natural o con secadora y da la textura como si acabaras de salir del mar. Si no consigues este producto aquí tenemos un post para decirte como hacerlo en tu casa fácilmente. 

Para el cuerpo encontramos este aceite seco con un brillo bronceado de la marca Body Shop y ¡nos encantó!. Lo aplicas como si fuera una crema en todo el cuerpo y te da una apariencia glow sin llegar a verse como brillantina y acentúa si te bronceaste un poco.

To get that beachy look we chose a sea salt spray from the brand Organix that you can apply it after washing your hair, and let it air dry or with a blowdryer and gives you the texture as ir you just came out of the ocean. If you can get this product here we have a post to tell you how you can make it easily in your house.

For the body we found this dry oil with golden shimmer from the brand The Body Shop and we loved it! You apply it as if it was a body lotion and it gives you a glowing appearance without being glittery and also brings out your tan.

Productos alto costo // High end products

En dirección de las manecillas del reloj // Clockwise: Sugar lip treatment fresh spf 15 , CC cream Origins, Primer Porefessional Benefit, They´re Real mascara Benefit, Cha Cha Tint Benefit, Sephora Smart Liner, Mac Paint Pot Bare Study.

En esta selección de productos elegimos los que son un poco más costosos y los puedes encontrar en tiendas departamentales o especializadas como Sephora.

 El bálsamo de Fresh es perfecto para esta temporada ya que lo puedes usar diario para hidratar tus labios o sobre algún color y tiene protección solar del 15 para que no se resequen ni estén expuestos al sol.

En medio de esta locura de BB y CC creams en el mercado probamos esta crema hidratante con color de Origins llamada CC cream que empareja el color de la piel, no es pesada, no se siente grasosa y tiene protección solar del número 20. 

Si tienes problemas si tu base no dura o sientes que se ven mucho tus poros, te recomendamos el primer Porefessional de Benefit. Este producto maravilloso lo aplicas después de tu hidratante y antes de tu base y hace que tu piel se vea más uniforme y dure mucho más la base. 

La máscara de pestañas es indispensable todo el año pero en estas épocas es horrible cuando se derrite o se cae con la humedad. Probamos la máscara de Benefit They´re real y hace que las pestañas parezcan como falsas. No es exactamente waterproof pero solo se quita usando un desmaquillante bifásico o agua micelar. 

Para mí este es un producto básico en cualquier época del año, es la tinta Cha cha de Benefit. Da un aspecto muy fresco a la cara, se puede usar en labios y mejillas y es a prueba de agua. El color es un naranja-rosado que queda muy bien en esta época de verano. 

Si te gusta el delineador, este modelo en líquido de Sephora es perfecto para todos los días y es facilísimo de usar. No más ojos de mapache o panda chueco tratando de maquillarte. 

Por último te recomendamos que si te gusta usar sombra pruebes una en crema ya que dura muchísimo, es resistente al agua y si tienes la piel mixta o grasa no desaparece fácilmente. El color Bare Study de MAC es un tono que a todo el mundo le queda increíble y se puede usar solo o aplicar alguna otra sombra en polvo encima y no se moverá en todo el día.

In this selection we chose products that are more expensive and you can find them in department stores or specialized places like Sephora. 

The Fresh Sugar lip balm treatment is perfect for this season because you can use it everyday to hydrate your lips or on top of any color and has an spf of 15 so your lips don´t dry and are protected from the sun.

In the midst of this whole craziness in the market of BB and CC creams we tried one from origins called CC cream. It's a tinted moisturizer with a protection of spf 20, a bit of color and perfect if you like a light foundation and can't stand the cakiness of a full coverage one. 

If you have problems with your foundation dissapearing or feel that your pores are showing too much we recommend you the primer Porefessional from Benefit. This amazing product can be used after you moisturize and before you apply your foundation and makes your skin looking amazing and prolongs the time of wear in your face base. 

Mascara is a must-have year round but in this season is awful when in melts or crumbles with the humidity. We tried the mascara They're real from Benefit and it makes your lashes look like false ones but in a good way. It's not exactly waterproof but it can stand all day and you have to remove it with bi-fasic cleanser or micelar water. 

For me Benefit Cha cha tint is a must have all year round but especially in this hot season. It gives you a very natural and fresh look, you can use it both in cheeks and lips and it's waterproof. The color is a pink-orange ans super flattering if you have a bit of a tan. 

If you like eyeliner we recommend you to try the Smart liner one from Sephora. It's super easy to use and you don't have to battle anymore with panda or raccoon eyes everytime you do your eye makeup. 

At last if you like wearing powder eyeshadow we suggest you to try a cream formula instead, it's easy to use, it's water and sweat resistant and perfect if you have combo-oily skin. The shade Bare Study by Mac is a shade that everyone can use alone or putting powder eyeshadow on top to seal the color. 

Productos bajo costo // Drugstore Products 

En dirección de las manecillas del reloj // Clockwise: Maybelline Baby lips Cherry Me , Revlon Colorburst Matte Lipbalm Unapologetic, Maybelline Colossal Volum Express waterproof, Maybelline Dream Fresh BB cream, Maybelline Color Tattoo On and on Bronze, Revlon PhotoReady cream blush Coral Reef, Plumín delineador Bissú a prueba de agua.

Para un toque de color, protección solar e hidratación el Baby lips de maybelline ¡esta perfecto para diario!. Hay muchísimos colores que escoger y es muy económico, una gran opción para los labios.
Si lo que te gusta es colores más vibrantes y pigmentados el Matte Balm Colorburst de Revlon es lo que buscas. Tiene tres fórmulas (mate, glossy y stain) y todas duran mucho y tienen el color perfecto que buscas.
Una máscara de pestañas waterproof es perfecta para esta época y la Colossal Volum de Maybelline es súper recomendable.
Si te interesa probar una BB cream sin gastar mucho la Dream Fresh de Maybelline es muy buena, práctica y es perfecta para usar de diario sin verte demasiado maquillada.
Como decía arriba, las sombras en crema son perfectas para esta época y si quieres probar una de bajo costo y de excelente calidad prueba la Color Tattoo de Maybelline. Hay muchos tonos pero mis favoritos son On and on bronze y Tough as Taupe, perfectos para usar diario.
Un producto único que sacó Revlon es el Photoready Creamblush, es una crema que parece líquida y al aplicarla queda una textura como polvo y se ve muy natural. El tono Coral Reef es un naranja muy veraniego pero si no te gusta hay otros tonos que quedan muy lindos.
Por último encontramos este delineador de la marca Bissú que es muy práctico y perfecto para usar en la noche o el día en un look cat eye.
